Meta-gaming is when you use knowledge or information not gathered In Character while in character. an example being seeing someones name in chat and then in character saying "Hey (character name) over here!" without asking in Roleplay
Powergaming is when you roleplay in a way that doesn't allow the other players to respond. an example being- * John slashes down with his sword, cutting jame's arm off.* in this john didnt give jame a response.

I enjoy music composition on a program i have for my computer. I also love to write stories and poetry. I can play piano by ear and enjoy trying to do improv. I like to sketch things sometimes and enjoy classical music. I love minecraft, skyrim, fallout, the usual for a gamer. I enjoy finding unique ways of doing things in multiplayer games and cant wait to do so on here! I am a kind, peace loving kind of guy. my characters in games tend to be the peaceful smart kind of guys and if possible basically pacifists. I enjoy finding unique ways of doing things in general.

My character knows the basics of farming and cooking. He is also a writer and knows a good deal about pianos as in how to make them and play them. ((if it is allowed on the server, my character knows how to make and play pianos, which are 9 noteblocks tuned to notes on a major scale. something i thought up. you can actually play audible songs on it.))

The Jayamen family is currently at their homestead for a family meeting and vacation. They are mostly gathered in the large building of the Jayamen residence.
Sofetios Jayamen: “ahh” Sofetios Jayamen rested on a chair and took a sniff inwards. “roth, are you cooking?
(From the kitchen) Roth Jayamen: “Sure am Sof! Good to know you’re up! Geedin should be here soon enough!” Infront of a skillet and oven Roth jayamen flips bacon in the air and catches it playfully.
Sofetios coughs lightly and pulls out a small paper wrapped bundle out of his leather jacket with a smile and says a little more Audible, “Jaya! Are you up?”
Jaya Jayamen (Upstairs): “Coming Grandpa” Jaya bounded down the steps to the ground with a lot of energy, turned to Sofetios and said” Morning! Uncle Geedin here yet?”
Sofetios smiling at the young man’s energy says: “Up and going very early! Good to see you full of energy as well. Come over here, I have a small gift.
Jaya walks over to where Sofetios is sitting: “hmm?”
Sofetios hands over the paper wrapped bundle lightly to Jaya with a smile.
Jaya taking the wrapped bundle looks at it and reads a bit of writing. “Open when the time is right and when your wings are about to take flight!”
Jaya looks at it to his grandpa with a small smile. “but grandpa, how…”
Suddenly there is a knock upon the door.
Jaya tucking the package in the crook of his arm heads to the door and opens it and in walks a man who embraces Jaya in a hug.
Jaya after the hug says: “Geedin! You’re finally here! Mom has been asking about you.”
Geedin: “ah young Jaya. It’s good to see you as well. You’re the spitting image of Sofetios. Good timing I assume?” Geedin sniffs the air.
Jaya: “Sure is! Mom should be up in a bit!”
Geedin walks in the door: “ah Sofetios, good to see you here! Roth cooking as usual?
Sofetios: “Indeed! I hope you are making enough for us all Roth!” Chuckles while looking playfully at Jaya.
Jaya laughs and says: “well I guess he might need to make more for me. I can eat a lot Roth!
Roth Jayamen from the kitchen: “There will be plenty for all…. Caughtcha!”
There was the sound of a door opening upstairs and some footsteps, down came Jan Jayamen.
Jan: “Hey there Geedin. I hope that your trip was good! We should have enough room for you and anything you brought in the bedroom down the hall to the right.
Geedin: “ah Jan good to see you again! I’ll-“
Roth Jayamen cuts in with: “breakfast is ready everyone!”
Jaya shouts: Finally!
As the Jayamen household gathers around the table. Jaya takes a seat at his usual spot in the middle with all 20 of them there.
After everyone has been seated and served, Jaya speaks up and says amoungst the conversation, “I have something ide like to say!”
The table and household calmed down enough to notice and hear Jaya when he says
Jaya: “I think I want to try to go to the cities… explore and all.”
Jan looks fondly at Jaya: “well what a surprise! When were you thinking about heading off? What plans?
Jaya: I plan to try and learn as much as I can from everyone while everyone is here, then try to figure out where to go when I’m sure about it.
Roth with a half moth full of food: “ah! You have the urge to leave eh?” motions towards Geedin.
Geedin sighs: “all Jayamens seem to have that urge for going and exploring. I assume you have plans of where to already?”
Jaya after thinking: “I was hoping you all could help me find a destination, plan it out, see if who I am matches the plan.
Geedin raises a brow: “good thinking. I’m assuming you have had thoughts of your own though?”
Jaya: “Of course. But I just want to make sure that the plan matches what I can do.”
Geedin says with a good majority of the table something like: “sounds alright to me!
Jaya smiles at the table going with what he said: Thank you! I can’t wait to get started.
Jan cuts in and says: “Well then it’s about time. Knowing Sofetios over there it was about time when this would happen.”
Sofetios sitting near Jaya says: “What skills do you feel you have Jaya?”
Jaya: “well I am good at math, I can learn pretty quickly, I am good at planning things out, I know a good amount about piano and music with the piano, I can farm decently enough… I go to uncle’s farm every now and again. I’ve written a few books and a few series of books, fantasy and heavy thinking ones. I call those idea books. I also know a lot about a lot of things… what was the term Sofetios?
Sofetios smiles and says: “jack of all trades, master of none.
Jaya thinks a moment, then says with a smile: “hmm… ide prefer jack of all trades master of all!”
Geedin:” an ambitious goal! Just keep what you learn in good holding! Kind of like… erm.. what was that poem Sofetios?
Sofetios nodding to Geedin says: “The dreamer?”
Geedin laughs a little and says: “ah yes, make sure to feed the right skills.”
Jaya looks up and smirks at Geedin: “because the ones you feed are the ones that stay right?”
Geedin: indeed so!
After the breakfast young Jaya learned several things. Basic economy from Jed Jayamen, music and philosophy from Geedin Jayamen, along with mechanics and a manual for making pianos signed by him. moderate cooking from Roth Jayamen as well as how to run a small restaurant in writing with some tips of how to farm efficiently. How to run a restaurant from James Jayamen, how to run a restaurant form his mother, Jan Jayamen. And one Jayamen passed Jaya a book titled, “staying youself in new areas. Author, Melunis Jayamen”.
After a few weeks of hello’s and goodbyes Jaya Jayamen had trained with the Jayamen family in several different areas and skills. After a few months had passed Jaya faced the entrance to his home from the inside getting ready to leave with a few dear friends and family.
Jan Jayamen: “jaya.” Jan put her hand on his shoulder. “Try and be careful. I know you are prepared, just try and be gentle on yourself if things should go wrong ok?”
? Jayamen: “try to aim high and if you hit a mark go higher! Anyways I mean if things go right, just try and go with it to higher places! Take care Jaya!”
Jaya tucks his backpack around his back and is about to leave when he remembers something. He takes off the backpack and goes through it until he gets a bundle out. Jaya reads the writing: “Open when the time is right and when your wings are about to take flight!”
Jan: “What’s this?”
Jaya: “it’s from grandpa…” Jaya opens the bundle, inside is a sleeveless brown leather jacket.
Jan: “well another jacket wouldn’t hurt… seems your grandpa is following his old friends tradition.
Jaya: “the library owner right?”
Jan smiles: “yes, but a long while ago. Anyways…” Jan was nearly in tears smiling. “Make sure to come home sometimes too!”
Jaya: “of course mom! I’ll be sure to!”
And with that Jaya left soon after with a lot of goodbyes, tears, and the rest to be decided, but as to where and how things would be, only time will tell…

- Characters begin with basic skills and gear. No advanced armor or weaponry. Skills and abilities are appropriate to a novice level. Skills should be learned through roleplay, not through backstory.

- Characters fit the lore. If you choose to play as a Moor Elf, for example, we expect appearance and details to be fitting with base lore.
- Characters cannot use magic in any way. The test itself should not mention magic either. HollowWorld uses a restricted magic system and it is only accessible to those who find and learn from a teacher in-game.
- Tests should not be violent. No murder, killing, death, torture. In the past, 8 out of 10 applications featured characters fighting off bandits or slaying passersby. We don't want to see how well you can script a fight scene. We want to see how well you can tell a story, how well you can roleplay.
- Be creative and be original. Do not use tests/characters whose home villages were burned, parents murdered, and then set off to be an orphan assassin. It has been done before. Please don't do it again.
- Written portion of the test is required to be a 400 word minimum. If the test doesn't meet the minimum, Staff may ask you to extend the test before the application is considered.
