House Dwargar - politics within the house
Members of House Dwargar are loyal to their patron god Korog and take pride in their skill in combat or craftsmanship. The history of their town established their reputation for their warrior nature and their ongoing trade agreements spread their craft and wealth to towns beyond their own.
House Dwargar is the first Dwarven House that does not boast nor support a monarch. In older times, the Dwarven houses rose and fell, all while following one or more kings. The founders of House Dwargar assumed having a king was the very reason why the Dwarves never made a successful and complete rise to glory, without a downfall.
Therefore, the Dwarves of House Dwargar put their faith not in a king, but in Korog, their God. They root many of their traditions around him, which lend themselves to giving them a reputation of being great craftsmen, smiths and fierce warriors (as stated by Niah's Dwarven lore).
There is still a hierarchy within the house, however:
- Sygyt: The Dwarf at the top of the hierarchy, he is responsible and held accountable for all the actions of its members, but cannot make large decisions all by himself. He may bestow advisor-, general-, and other titles on people.
- Khargyra: The Dwarves that the Sygyt trusts most. The Khargyra and Sygyt make the decisions of the house together. Khargyraa are allowed to go on diplomatic- and trade missions and establish relations with other factions in the new world, without having to discuss it beforehand.
- Dwargar: All other Dwarves that are members of this house. They may be in service of the Khargyra or may be regular citizens. A Dwargar can obtain the Khargyra title only if a current Khargyra suggests such to the Sygyt.
Current hierarchy:
Sygyt:
- Thôrdil Bárúmur
