5. In your own words, how would you define metagaming and powergaming?
Metagaming is primarily the act of roleplaying as if you know things you can’t possibly, either from out of character details, game effects, or other avenues. It can also involve letting other characters/players know, sometimes even out of character, information that they couldn’t know in-character.
Powergaming is when players leave out the all important “attempt to” in their actions, eg. “I stab Joseph why my trident, piercing his heart,” vs. “I stab at Joseph with my trident, aiming for his heart.”
6. Do we allow X-Raying mods or X-Ray texture packs on the server?
Nope, thankfully.

8. Tell us about yourself!
Outside of minecraft, I’m a graduate student studying experimental psychology, eventually hoping to study marine animal behavior as a professional researcher, maybe even a professor. I play a little bit of Dungeons and Dragons, and have been acting Dungeon Master for a couple of groups since 2015, and am looking into selling some of the better stories and campaigns that I’ve written with one of my best friends as my artist/coconspirator. I also used to play on Hollowworld, and have started missing some of those old times, so I thought I’d come back and see how things, both on the server and myself, have changed.
9. Do you have any examples of your work?
I have owned and maintained a small server of my own on multiple occasions, and have done builds of all varieties. Don’t worry though, I know the rules about matching content, and have actually had similar rules on some of my servers at times. I recently switched to a new laptop, so I don’t believe I have any good examples of my work accessible at the moment, unfortunately.
10. Did anyone refer you? If not, how did you find our server?
I don’t even remember how I found this server, way back when. I think I just Googled it and found my way here.

If Jonii were any thinner, he’d likely resemble a cardboard cutout. He bears pale-olive skin, and light brown hair with traces of red. His clothes seem simple, but he would never be caught dead without an overloaded knapsack and his so-called “Cloak of Holding,” which is frankly just a lengthy overcoat with dozens of pockets hastily sewn into the interior. Jonii’s frail appearance marks one of his two great loves: the library.

The wee-hours of the morning long-since passed, Jonii glanced up from his book, dog-eared and moth-eaten, and scanned the library. It was his favorite hour, too late for the troubles of the world, yet too early for the melancholy of regretting another night’s sleep neglected. But on this night, the hour was even better.
A glance was all it took to confirm: the librarian was soundly asleep. Hushed snores confirmed it. Jonii chuckled to himself - then immediately regretted it, as the sound filtered and echoed around the great empty space. The librarian stirred, murmured, then resumed snoring.
Slipping two small, leather pouches out of his cloak pockets, Jonii silently opened one, then the other, then summarily planted his hooves in them, and tied the pouches tight to his ankles. He tested one foot against the floor. Pfft - a muffled sound was created, but nearly inaudible compared to the normal clopping of hooves on stone. He grinned. With that, he was off to the forbidden knowledge, the “Expert Loremasters Only” section, or, simply, the top shelf.
Pfft, pfft, pfft went footstep after footstep, and the librarian’s heavy breathing continued unbroken. Pfft, pfft, pfft to the staircase, then pfft, pfft, pfft past the landing, pfft, pfft, pfft through the first floor. This was it. Jonii stood at the base of the a ladder, in a dark and dusty corner at the back of the library. Above him, he could make out the faint lines of the trap door at the top of the wooden wrungs. So close! he thought to himself, and began his ascent. The tension was palpable in this moment; sweat beaded his brow and hands, and he felt himself trembling childishly. He’d never made it so far.
The trapdoor opened with relative ease, and nearly silent. Jonii just poked his head into the room and stared, awestruck, around the dimly moonlit room. Tomes of lore packed the shelves, and Jonii imaged every secret known, by any race, must be held somewhere in this one room. The names of forgotten gods, the words of power that assembled the multiverse, maybe even the secret to raising the dead and conquering the world.
Until a voice behind him said “I believe it’s time you went home, Nibs.” Jonii jumped, flailed, and lost hold of the ladder, sprawling onto the ground behind him. Matron Paseda stood over him, a book in hand, as per the usual, glowering. Jonii just mumbled for a moment, fumbling for excuses, then finally settled for, “Yes’m.”
