Where do event goers go to event go?
Players who want to take part can gather at Storm's Landing, as per Storm's Landing Baron considering on sending a search party to scope out the shadow in the eastern skies

In the distance, a dark shadow can be seen in the sky, but it’s difficult to shape out. As time progresses, the dark shadow becomes many.. But seemingly smaller clusters, now.. A man perched on a crow’s nest at the docks would yell down to claim it to be lower than where it once was first spotted.

Tis this violent, or just moderate?
It's how the past few staff events have gone. Violent/moderate. (There'll be fighting for those who want to, and plot for those who do not.)

I liked the plot and idea for the event with the crumbling island and the falling trees. Really nice WE stuff credit to Lannis. It was a bit crowded on the ship but what can ya do!

Uhh... A group went out to sea to investigate the object in the sky (not the purple moon). They end up in a field of floating/falling debris consisting of general landmass, so rock, dirt, trees. Some sick maneuvering by Solus with two natural 20s. Birb people appear on one of these bits of debris. Their bit is sinking, so they have no choice but to board the ship. Lots of misunderstanding and mistrust, partially from prejudice and partially from broken understanding of Common on the part of the birbs. Some people want to kill them, some want to study them, some want to detain them until a solution is found, and others just want to have them let be. Ultimately the ship returns to port, the birbs are freaked out by people and flee Storm's Landing. There were some more interactions with smaller groups and the birbs afterward, but I think that's not really event material.
