Let's Draw!
In my endless collection of magazines and books to help me get better at art, I picked up a book called "Fantasy Genesis Characters: A creativity game for drawing original people and creatures" (Chuck Lukacs).
It's a really cool book that covers not only tips and basics for drawings but challenges the readers to draw things they wouldn't think to draw/ are difficult to draw.
While I think you guys should totally get this book if you're into art, I wanted to post the challenges, dice roll feature lists here for you guys to play with.
The Emotion-Action Game:
- Roll six words from the emotion list
- Roll six words from the action list
- Create a character by free associating with one word from each list.
Archetype Occupation Challenge:
- Roll and pick 2 archetypes.
- Roll and pick 2 professions
(Use references for inspiration)
Cute Brüt Challenge:
- Pick a Brutish character and then place the character in one of the cute actions
- Dream up a Young Character and draw them doing one of the brüt actions.
Cultural Style Game:
- Pick an Occupation
- Roll or pick a cultural style at random
- Research!
