Elros Cerendor heir to the Cerendor fortune
Backstory
Elros was born an orphan silver-elf on the streets of Storm’s Landing. At the age of 5 he was found by a Silver-Elf Lord Wollston Cerendor formerly of Tambry and now Lord of the Stirling Isles. Wollston believed him to be his son and kin and Elros took his surname and grew up on the Isle of Cerendor where Wollston’s Stirling estate was located. Who Elros’ mother was is a mystery. His mother, who is believed to have worked in a brothel or at least have common birth, died in child birth according to the records of the local orphanage. All that is known for sure is his mother was a human and have fair appearance from the records. Wollston Cerendor is believed to be Elros' biological father, but Wollston has stated to Elros that he shares a resemblance to his half-brother Morgan so the veracity of this claim is not entirely known.
He was raised at the large and luxurious estate and was educated by a handful of rotating tutors, as well as, Wollston himself. Never as fond of his studies, as his father had been, Elros enjoyed exploring the isles often on horseback instead of hunching over endless stacks of books. He quickly became adept at horseback riding and ended up convincing his father at the age of 16 to allow him to start breeding race horses. He also showed some interest in archery, hunting, and fishing. Despite not enjoying learning the histories of the land as well as he should have, Elros in his teenage years proved himself to be a natural merchant, like his father and uncle before him. Elros began sailing Wollston’s ship the “Dawnbreaker” to Storm’s Landing to barter and trade goods (including his horses) for his father.
Through this trade he finally was not isolated from the rest of the world and quickly began to understand how much solitude there had been in his life up to this point. Elros rented a home in Storm Landing in the hopes of having more opportunities to trade and socialize. It was through these trade excursions that Elros would meet his best friend Julian Mercante of House Veraci. After many successful trade excursions together Julian mentioned to Elros his life dream of building the greatest trade city the land had ever seen. He proposed it be built on the sea and instead of roads, canals would be in there place. Elros was obviously was awestruck by the magnitude and scale of what was being proposed by Julian, but as a shrewd businessman realized the profit that could be made if he financed the building of the city which was to be named simply Veraci. Elros quickly realized this was a deal unlike any he had ever been proposed before, a great one in fact, and jumped at the opportunity to finance the city, after receiving Wollston’s approval first. Now 24 Elros splits his time between aiding Julian in building Veraci and trading and maintaining the Stirling Isles for his now elderly father.
Update (2020):
Although Elros and Julian (Antilogy) were successful in building and founding the city of Veraci they did not prove to be as adept at the governing of the city. Julian's mismanagement of the funds provided by Wollston Cerendor ended up leaving them both in severe debt in the months following the cities completion. Elros and Julian were forced to divest the majority of their real estate interests in the city and due to laws they had established give up their roles in the government of the city. Property was power in early Veraci.
Elros having squandered the majority of the Cerendor fortune in his failed venture went missing for a time. It is believed he spent his time sailing the eastern seas on the Dawnbreaker during this period, but what exactly transpired during this year of Elros' life is not entirely known. All that is known is he came back a changed and more somber elf. He currently resides in Cerendor Manor in Storm's Landing noble district, where he has a small stake in Storm's Landing brewing company run by Julian and Ehmib Onyxheart, the son of one of Wollston's closest friends Bimhe Onyxheart. His reclusive nature and his lack of ambition as of lately as led many, including his father, that Elros has developed a drinking problem, particularly having a taste for Ehmib's Single Malt Whisky and Cactus Brews.
Recently Ehmib and Julian became aware from a certain James McGuffin (Stirling?) Tot of a venture in the south of the continent to try to rekindle the glory of Tambry-Upon-Tam. This settlement was to be named, conveniently, (New) Tambry. Wollston Cerendor being the Merchant-Prince of the former city and having had to sell his estate on isle Cerendor is eager to recoup some of his lost investment by assisting in acquiring the stone and minerals needed to build such a grand vision. Wollston, now living at a manor situated in the previously vacant mine of Eisenheim south of Storm's Landing has called his debts on his son Elros and his friend Julian Merchante and is asking for their assistance in improving the viability of the mines themselves.
The future for the first time in a long time seems optimistic for Elros and the Cerendor family, as long as the failures of the past do not overshadow the ambitions of the future.
Update (2019): Elros lost much of his fortune because he failed to recoup most of his investment in Veraci. He sold his estate of Stirling Reserve on the Stirling isles and had planned to move into his home at Storm's Landing. He had sent forth his father's old friends son Ehmib Onyxheart with his valuables on his boat "The Heart of Tambry" to Storm's Landing and had received word that Ehmib had arrived safely and was planning to build a brewery with his friend Julian Merchante to try to regain some of their joint lost investment. With this news Elros booked passage to Storm's Landing, but on his way their his hired boat was caught in the middle of a gale and Elros nor the crew have been heard from since.
