it's been addressed IC and i intend to develop it as a major character point that florian's desire for glory conflicts with his faith and that he'll be using magic for god's will.

Yeah, I've had one character who taught it and then was shelved permanently (unti I was temporarily needed to teach again) when I realised I wasn't fit to continue teaching it.

Aside from that, you're saying you've never attempted to gain Brennard's trust through normal RP? Or made any attempt at all, really?

you could seek out a magus.

I approached Mitch with this, he didn't approach me. Florian proved himself to Brennard and sought him out, taking the initiative to gain magic. The only reason Mitch is the player I happened to become apprenticed to is because he teaches eviscism, which is the school that matches Florian's personality and style of combat.

Who wrote the lore doesn't matter one bit.
I don't care what you guys say you want ic.
When you make a new char that gets instantly knighted and given magic in a matter of a week it is not OK.
I could say the same thing "My char wants magic"
