Name: Rogerius Fitzolini Ricci

Age: 27

Current Occupation: Archbishop of the Veracian Sect of Jax
Current Home: Veraci

Race: Human

Current Condition:

Physical Description: Rogerius stands at an imposing 6 feet tall, a height which is only exacerbated by the long, black and gold robe and mitre that he frequently dons. As a public figure and conman, he makes sure that he is in shape and is quite strict about his physical and mental health, despite the temptations of the lavish and mind-numbingly pleasurable lifestyle as a Bishop of Trade- after all, appearances are everything to the hungry masses of Veraci! Rogerius frequently goes out hunting and sailing, as well as boxing in his free time. His golden beard is trimmed to form sharp angles, and his head of golden hair is well-combed, if a bit casual for a supposed Clergyman.

Voice Reference:
Marc Alaimo (AKA the actor for Gul Dukat in DS9)

Alignment and Personality:

Early Life: Rogerius was initially the son of money lender, he was dissatisfied with the way his father kept his family in a lower status of wealth by being so genenerous and lenient with his clients. Every taunt, jeer and thrown bottle of cheap wine that came his family’s way by the upper echelons of society drove him to rage until one day he found and brutalized a client who was more prone to taking advantage of his father’s kindness. While the man was unable to walk again, he paid back the money lent to him and then some, further convincing the young man of the fruitlessness of being lenient as a businessman. When his father passed away, he took his inheritance, and then his sister’s- whom he cast out as a weakling (and into a convent). With this money, he began to transform his father’s business into a mafia that- while terrifying- put the poorer folk on the run, turning the neighborhoods under his control into a more respectable, commercial areas of Veraci. Rogerius attributed much of his success to himself, but also to his devotation to Jax, the god of wealth (not luck, according to Roger)- and as such, became a acolyte to Jax. His devotion (along with a few bribes and beatings) lead him to be elected as the Bishop-King (Vescovo-Re) of Wealth and Commerce. After the other two Bishop-Kings fell out of power, he casually took control as the sole Vescovo-Re of Veraci, using his newfound power to bump off business competitors whom he feared might be political competitors.

Inventory and Skills

Casual Clothing:

- A white linen shirt with puffed sleeves.

- A pair of brown linen pants.

- Leg-wraps and simple leather boots.

Formal Clothing:

- A set of black, cotton clerical robes embroidered with gold thread. Usually worn with a white scarf to prevent chafing. These robes represent his duties as both a Bishop of Jax and the Safeguard to Veraci's Wealth.

- A thick, grey cassock, which he wears beneath the robes. This represents his inward relationship with Jax and acts as a make-shift gambeson.

- A hauberk of mail that Rogerius wears, mostly for security rather than any symbolic purpose. The mail is usually between the clerical robes and the grey cassock.

- A pale blue, silk shirt.

- A pair of plain, black pants.

Arms & Armor:

- A
sugarloaf helmet.

- A hauberk of riveted mail. While still very serviceable, some of the links of mail appear to have been repaired and replaced.

- A coat of plates, worn over a surcoat depicting a white lion on a red plain; his family crest.

- A full set of Milanese-style plate, complete with a close helmet, a mail hauberk (with a coif), a gambeson, and an arming cap.

- A
longsword dubbed "Skullsplitter".

- A heater shield with the Veracian flag (A golden flower on a saltire on a plain of blue) emblazoned onto it.
102274

- A
bardiche (Loaned to Brae)

- A poleaxe

- A 300 pound longbow with an accompanying quiver of bodkin and broadhead arrows

- A myriad of daggers hidden throughout his body, including a rondel, a knightly dagger, and a cinquedea.

Skills and Abilities:

Rhetoric- 6/10- Rogerius has a graceful vocabulary and a way with words as a King should. He often reserves it for insults and in winning the support of the throngs of peasants and townsmen in Veraci. When among his ministers, he rarely bandies words and simply speaks his mind.

Intrigue- 4/10- Rogerius has some experience in economic intrigue, but nothing as graceful and elegant as political intrigue. He finds himself a clumsy and vulnerable target, and hopes to learn how to bolster himself in the world of the politics.

Boxing- 10/10- A master pugilist from years of training and rough-housing as a youth, Rogerius could easily render someone dead or at least unconscious with a few good strikes. He is not averse to playing dirtily.

Swordsmanship- 5/10- A middling swordsman at best, Rogerius can hold his own with a longsword, but prefers using simpler weapons such as his bardiche or poleaxe.

Polearms- 6/10- Rogerius is quite comfortable using a variety of polearms, and finds them a refreshing weapon when one has been fighting secret battles with words (and losing).

Archery - 4/10- Rogerius is not a good archer, but he practices as best he can. Archery isn't widely practiced in the nautical country of Veraci, and as such, he finds it a wholly exotic activity.

Sailing/Navigation- 6/10- No real Veracian would call himself a man if he could not sail and chart courses. While he hasn't had the opportunity to be aboard a vessel in a while, he is not unfamiliar with the sea at all. He is able to chart courses, find the best winds, evade storms, and use the sails like any good sailor.
