Unfortunately hippos live in sub-saharan Africa which is out of the scope of our setting which if I am correct extends to North Africa but not below the Sahara. Yes we do have a suitable environment on the new map for hippos and I would love to see hippos in the new world. Also, here's a link to an article I found about hippos:
