The Kaltstaat is a kingdom borne from the unity of the esteemed noble House Varyn and House Kane, aligning and governing over both of their respective lands. Formally these lands were much smaller and encompassed a duchy, ruled by House Kane alone, but upon the wedding and coronation of both Katherine Kane and Asher Varyn the lands are since pulled together and united as a great Northern kingdom.

With origins spanning back to the time of Anhald, Kaltlanders still hold several older traditions and traits, but have made a clear divide over the passing of several sovereigns of rule. Rede is the native tongue of any Kaltlander, but the shift into embracing their roots has solidified them as a Northern branch regardless of old ties.

Government and Succession

The Kaltstaat is ruled by a monarchy, in which both King and Queen are of equal standing and work together whilst simultaneously overseeing separate branches of the court; such as the Treasurer and Marshal positions. The royal family of the Kaltstaat are above any law and hold complete authority on the kingdom, though hold a court of esteemed advisors to assist in running the state.

The current reigning monarchy falls to the current Lord of Varyn and Lady of Kane;
Her Royal Majesty Katherine I of House Kane, Queen/Konigin of the Kaltstaat and of the North.
His Royal Majesty Asher I of House Varyn, King/Konig of the Kaltstaat and of the North.

And should they pass or be unable to rule, the following process of succession is to be followed until a time in which an heir is born or appointed;

1. His Grace, Sir Wolfgang von Harrister, Hand of Kane - as heir to House Kane.
2. Lord Richard Varyn - as heir to House Varyn.

Nobility of the Realm

Noble men and women of the Kaltstaat are the individuals who have sworn their allegiance to the monarchy and in return are granted titles and in some cases lands; both of which can be taken away by the very same monarchs who granted them should oaths be broken.

Currently there are no Dukes nor Duchesses within the Kaltstaat.

Counts and Countesses / Graf and Grafin
Currently there are no Counts nor Countesses within the Kaltstaat.

The Kaltlander
Often referred to as the Kaltic peoples or Kalts, these are the people that make up the kingdom of the Kaltstaat and over generations since the split from Anhald, have begun to form something of their own cultural identity.

House Kane holds a variety of precious items that are now considered family heirlooms, things to be kept in the Kane family for future generations.

The Crown of Kaltstaat
Item Status || Missing

The most expensive and likely prized item of the House, the crown was commissioned and designed by Alison Kane - And crafted to exact specifications by Light Fuvur. It is uncanny how perfectly it was made in her vision. But clear it was made by masterful craftsmanship.
Made of primarily Queensport Gold, yet studded with a great many diamonds from the southern lands of Aelmere, Jet from Queensport, and emeralds from Sanardu.

It was rumoured that the obsidian necklace given by Niah Kane has been worked into the piece, polished to blend in with the others.

The Sceptre of Kane
