Itzza's Adventures in Pokemon Omega Ruby

Itzzaboy

King ForumStalker
Basically, I'm going to record my first runthrough of Pokémon Omega Ruby. I loved the original games and wish to share my experiences with you guys.

WARNING: PLAYTHROUGH WILL INEVITABLY CONTAIN MULTIPLE MAJOR SPOILERS, IF YOU WISH TO PLAY THE GAME FRESH AND AVOID SPOILERS, PLEASE TURN AWAY NOW!

Part 1 - The Stone Badge

- Am greeted with a masterfully remixed prologue, complete with some original scenes from the original prologue and a 3D back of the truck cutscene. It looks phenominal and I am PUMPED!

- Ah, Littleroot Town, such memories, much happiness.

- Mother tells us to go set the time, although the DS clock does that for me.

- Dad's on TV!... oh wait, we missed him.

- Head next door, say hi to the cute girl next door... and her daughter, who happens to be the same age as us. On a serious note, May is seriously Kawaii.

- Head out of town, BOOM, amazing cutscene of Birch being chased around, IN 3D!!

- Dating back to my R/S/E days, my favourite starter was always Mudkip, so we'll follow that tradition. Oh, Mudkip knows Water Gun?! KO Poochyena easily.

- Train up for the May battle on Route 103. I assume since Mudkip already has Water Gun, Treecko already has absorb, so I need to train.

- Take May on at Level 8, Treecko sticks to Pound, I smash it easily.

- Go back, get a Pokedex and some Pokeballs. The new DexNav App is awesome. Not only does it tell you what Pokémon you've seen/caught on that Route, the scanner allows you to find certain Pokémon, as well as hunt down the new "sneaking" Pokémon.

(Sneaking Pokémon are similar to the Shaking Grass Pokémon from BW and BW2, except that to encounter them you have to use the sneaking function bound to the Circle pad (in place of the skates). These Pokémon have a chance of knowing one of their Breeding Moves in place of their first move slot move. You can get some great moves, or you can lose your only attacking move to something useless)

- Event on Route 101 to introduce the aforementioned feature, get myself a Fire Fang Poochyena.

- Move on, catch myself a Seedot, A Zigzagoon (with BM Charm) and a Surskit (with BM Fell Stinger (I so badly wanted Hydro Pump ;-;)).

- Small cutscene of Norman giving a challenger some props after he wiped the floor with the poor kid. Followed by the all too familiar talk of "oh, you made it here by yourself?" Step into the gym.

- Meet Kawaii Wally! Blushing cheeks and all, he borrows a Zigzagoon from your dad and catches himself a Ralts.

- Move on, catch myself a Taillow ( with BM Sky Attack), met Mr Briney and Peeko, and headed into Petalburg Woods.

- Caught myself a Shroomish, battle a new and improved Team Magma Grunt (who unfortunately only has that lvl 9 Poochyena). Let's move on...

- Oh, no Bullet Seed TM, instead you get Echoed Voice... that's a shame. Oh well.

- Arrive at Rustboro, heal up and head through to Route 116.

- Catch myself 2 skitty (both with Normalize, bleh) as well as a Whismur and a Nincada. Clear out all the trainers, then track back to take on the gym...

Gym 1 - Roxanne - Rock Type

Mudkip vs Geodude:

Water Gun brings Geodude down to 1hp, Roxanne heals, Mudkip finished with Water Gun.

Shroomish vs Nosepass

Stun Spore paralyzes Nosepass, Nosepass deals 9 damage with Rock Tomb.

Leech Seed Nosepass, Nosepass uses Rock Tomb once more.

Mega Drain, Nosepass is down to about 1/3rd health, while Rock Tomb dents my fully restored health.

Mega Drain finishes the match. Am awarded with the Stone Badge and TM39 Rock Tomb.

Part 2 - The Knuckle Badge

- Leave the gym, oh no! Team Magma's stolen something. Guess which generous benefactor has to go retrieve it?

- Go back, cut down trees to access previously inaccessible areas.

- Mudkip hit Lvl16, evolved into Marshtomp! Learned Mud Shot!

- No! Someone stole Peeko! We're getting him back damnit!

- Boom, destroyed his Poochyena with my own, rescued Peeko!

- Return the parts, the president upgrades the PokeNav with a Buzznews App, then asks us to deliver a letter to Steven in Dewford.

- May was being creepy and was waiting outside Devon Corp for me. She tells us that Mr Briney was once a sailor.

- Backtracking, get a few items, including the TM for False Swipe. Also found the Mossy Rock in Petalburg.

- Caught a Slakoth in Petalburg Woods.

- Caught a Wumrple on Route 104, I've decided that I want to complete each of the areas Dexes to the best of my ability.

- Of course, after a ridiculous amount of time it took to find a Shadow Sneak Ralts, it's female, joy...

- Sail away with Mr Briney. Aweosme cutscene with Peeko :D

- Get a fishing rod in Dewford.

- Head up towards Granite Cave

- Thank god, Flash is still a TM in this game, got TM70 Flash

- Ah, turns out the extent of the cave is blocked off by some ruin maniacs. I'll explore for wilds a bit then challenge the gym.

- The Gym is interesting, the trainers are boring. Moving on...

Gym 2 - Brawly - Fighting Type

Poochyena vs Machop:

At a disadvantage here, but we'll see how it goes. Fire Fang takes about 1/3rd of Machops health, while Karate Chop nearly KOs Poochyena.

Switch to Marshtomp. Mud Shot deals half, while 2 karate chops also deal half.

Damn super potion. Water gun crits for half health, Mud shot finishes Machop

Marshtomp vs Makuhita:

Mud Shot deals nearly half, Makuhita uses Bulk Up

Makuhita dodges Mud Shot, hits me with Sand Attack

Mud Shot misses, sand attack again.

Mud Shot finally hits, KOs Makuhita and wins the Knuckle Badge, also obtained TM08 Bulk Up

Part 3 - The Dynamo Badge

- Teach Nincada Flash before heading back to Granite Cave

- Granite Cave is certainly not as expansive as it used to be, but here we find the Mandream known as Steven Stone, looking at a Mural of Groudon and Kyogre.

- Give Steven the letter, gain TM51 Steel Wing

- Use the Old Rod to catch myself a Magikarp and a Tentacool in Dewford.

- Go back to Petalburg, catch myself a Goldeen

- That appears to be all the Pokémon I can get so far, except for one Rod pokemon in Petalburg, and one wild in Granite Cave (99% sure it's geodude). I head on to Slateport.

- Poochyena evolved into Mightyena!

- Cleared out all the trainers on the Route 109 beach. Headed into Slateport City.

- Heal up, meet Dock, go to the Museum.

- Meet Stern, boom! Magma Grunts, time to smash em.

- Oh damn, it's Maxie

- Oh great, just like the original, we protect him AND deliver his parts, and get zilch for it.

- Meet Contest Goddess Lisia, get a Contest Pass and a Pokeblock kit. Might indulge in the contests some other time.

- Head out to Route 110 to look for Pokémon.

- Caught the following:
Minun
Electrike
Gulpin
Voltorb

- Headed up towards... the TRICK MASTERS HOUSE!

- Clear the house, gain TM12 Taunt and an Expert Belt

- Boom, Rival Battle. Very Easy. Marshtomp KOs Slugma, Mightyena KOs Grovyle and Shroomish KOs Wailmer.

- Marshtomp learns Mud Bomb, should be useful at the Gym.

- Obtained HM06 Rock Smash from Wally's Uncle after we beat Wally. Guess the Rock Smash Dude was kicked out when they renovated. The cost of progress...
