PHYSIOLOGY:

Build: A tall but thin individual with lean muscle where it counts.
Hair: Duval’s hair tends to hang in a jet black mess under his turban. He rarely takes the headpiece off, ensuring his corse, unkempt mane is out of sight. He also has a short, triangle shaped beard.
Eyes: A murky, stormy grey
Skin: A dark almond in color with a road-worn leathery feel.
Identifying Marks: Duval has a few painted markings on his forehead given to him in a blessing from a witch he met on his travels. They were said to bring him good fortune, whether they work or not remains to be seen. He has a variety of scars around his arms and legs from the scraps he's been in but nothing extreme.
Appearance: Looks younger than he really is and carries a feeling of wisdom with him. His murky eyes look to hold experiences beyond the scope of a commoner. He looks to be a well traveled man.
Clothing: He wears a fine blue Turban wrapped around his head accented by a black band and silver trinkets/jewelry. Bright, silken clothes have suited him fine in his nomadic lifestyle, with blues and reds abound. He wears a light weight and breathable padded gambeson under the rest of his flowing clothes, held together with leather straps. His striped pants are loose fitting and billow in the sea wind.

Weaponry:
  • x2 short twin fullered daggers given to him as a reward for returning a stolen horse to a wealthy lord in the south (~12in overall) Worn on his hip in sight.
  • A sling he was given by one of his brothers (+A few lead ‘bullets’) Worn hanging in a pouch on his belt.
Prized Possessions:
  • A brass rose ornament he wears around his neck, given to him by an old flame from his caravan as a teen.
  • His Mangrove wood smoking pipe with silver fittings, made it himself at the age of 27.
  • A pair of manacles (he doesn't keep on himself) that he once wore when he was kidnaped into slavery at 22.
  • His prized daggers he wears on his person. (rarely used)
  • A wooden mask resembling a monster he discovered in a ruin near his home as a boy with his best friends.
  • A small engraved wooden box containing a mixture of Sooleran smoking hash.
Other Items Carried On His Person:
  • A small leather bound journal used to remember names and places as well as sketch landmarks and landscapes.
  • A little bottle of woman’s perfume. (for himself)
  • A leather bag holding a few loose coins on his thick belt.
  • A waterskin.
  • A few small bits of jerky and dried vegetable in case he travels.
  • Oils and tonics to treat small lacerations, rashes and sunburn.
Hygiene: Perhaps less than optimal, but his perfume he wears helps a the smell a bit.
Voice: Speaks lower and less often than the average person, he tends to size people up and speak when he is ready. He carries a Sooleran accent.

  • While not a scholar of any kind, Duval tries his best to keep his mind sharp on the road with books, drawing and meditating. He man not have had any serious education is no complete fool.

Profession: A free wandering sailor, navigator, trader, rider for hire. (Employment has been short term)
Training and Skills:
  • Swordsmanship - Learned from his uncle and trains when he can, has been out of practice for a few months. He prefers daggers, scimitars and rapiers.
  • Hand to hand combat - Learned from his father and uncle but has rarely trained or brushed up since.
  • Seamanship - Learned basics from working as a deckhand for a few years before becoming enslaved.
  • Navigation: A useful caravan skill/roll he took a liking to in his youth, has used it regularly ever since.
  • Riding: Had to learn fast as a traveling Sooleran from his family and caravan.
  • Hunting: Learned on the road with the rest of his brothers. Useful for a vagabond. Bowmanship skills never included combat.
  • Common skills: Knows a few other common skills used on the road including cooking for himself, repairing of torn clothes and sewing of small wounds.
ETHICS AND MOTIVATIONS:
Personality: Reserved and a little off putting. Incredibly loyal if a friendship of trust is founded. Can be a bit mysterious or close-chested.
Religion or Cults: Duval has experienced a variety of religions but none of them have stuck so far. He is a spiritual individual but hasn't found the right fit, especially after his exile.

Short Term Goals:
  • Find work and begin a new life with new connections.
Long Term Goals:
  • Found/find a new caravan or group of people he trusts that work well together.
  • Make a name for himself to carry on once he is gone.
