<RELATIONSHIPS>

Relevant Family Members:
+ Laisa Dawnriver, adopted daughter- Kit feels immeasurable guilt for her past mistakes and failures as a mother that have contributed to Laisa's trauma. She has difficulty approaching her about this because of her nature, but Kitrana still loves her and cares for her deeply, and is trying to do what she can to mend their relationship. Recently she feels immensely conflicted over Laisa's relationship with Asero. She questions why Laisa would ever fall for someone as foolish as him after everyone else around her has tried to dissuade her, and it has caused some thoughts in her mind that it may be useless to try to repair the relationship. However, Leo has convinced Kit not to give up yet, and to give it some time and see how things go. (Samiwashere )

Romantic Interests:
+ Leofaren Venna- When they first met, Kitrana never would have guessed that this would be the man who won her heart. At first he seemed like a meek, cowardly freeloader to her. But after a series of different events, Leo fell for her, and (with a little help from his friends) was able to get through to her heart and win her love. Kitrana is undyingly loyal to him, and in him she has found a partner who shares her altruism, is calm and level-headed and whose diplomatic and peaceful nature has visibly rubbed off on her over time. She could not be happier to be with him. (Shankster )

Trusted Friends:
+ James Varyn- Considering their similar religious views, these two hold an odd rivalry which has on occasion manifested in the form of bitter disagreement. With time, however, Kitrana has come to hold a great deal of respect for James. He has a tried and true commitment to justice and defending the innocent, and his dislike for blind loyalty matches with hers perfectly. She even has taken to heart a bit of wisdom he has shared with her. She has seen fit to swear loyalty to him and Raalvara now, and she hopes that with time, him and Raal will remain just as committed to honor and justice. (TheDeester )
+ Raalvara Varyn- They have been vaguely acquainted for a long time through Leofaren, but despite what Leo had said about her, Kitrana remained rather uncertain about her. However, through the events of the Ashen Blight, Kitrana came to see Raalvara as a trusted friend. Their ideals line up in many ways, and Kitrana admires her spirit and resolve. She does sometimes question Raalvara's levelheadedness, though it has been some time since it has caused any issue. With Raalvara being a close friend and now Valiant's favored, Kitrana has seen fit to swear her loyalty to Raalvara and her husband James. (Raal )
+ Gilligan- Gilligan earned Kitrana's trust very quickly. He showed her his gentle and supportive nature when he found her in the midst of something of an emotional breakdown following a talk with Laisa, and she has likewise tried to be supportive and encouraging to Gill. There was a time during the fight against the Ashen Blight when Gill came to dislike Kit, something that she still regrets and partly blames herself for, but now they have reconciled and Kitrana hopes that they remain friends. (Samwych )
+ Ayda- Kitrana and Ayda have had a very rocky relationship over the past years. Their personalities and ideologies naturally clash, and that has made for a lot of heated and emotional disagreements between them. But in more recent times they have come to more of an understanding and have made something of a peace between each other. Despite their issues, Kitrana respects her beliefs and would trust this woman with her life. She does see her as extended family, though she would scarcely admit it. (Ayda )
+ Cassian- This man was among the first people Kit met when she made it to Storm's Landing. Kitrana does not entirely approve of Cassian's underhanded and manipulative nature even now, and there has been times where his actions have earned her scorn and disdain. But with time, Kitrana has come to regard him as her best friend, especially as he treats Leofaren as a brother. She even admits privately that at times she would find his skills useful to her, and would ask for his help in this regard if she ever deems it necessary. (Baron2537 )

Friendly With:

Loose Acquaintances:
+ Caerwyn- Kitrana has not had much actually meaningful conversation with Caerwyn. Her impression of him is that he is cocky and eager to fight, so it makes sense to her why he is in the Black Company. Oddly enough, she does not entirely dislike him and she looks forward to dueling him. (Rygan )
+ Vashti- Raalvara's trainee has barely held any real conversation with Kitrana, and most of their exposure to each other has been simply a matter of being in the same place at the same time. Kitrana regards her as something of an annoyance, as Vashti lacks discipline and seemingly goes out of her way to shirk authority and cause trouble. Despite this, Kit doesn't openly dislike her, and she does not think that Vashti holds ill intent. She can tell that there is legitimate caring between her and Raalvara, and besides this, she thinks that Vashti's attitude could make her a fine warrior someday if she continues training with Raal. (Charybdis )

Disfavored Individuals:
+ Elizabeth Kane- Between Elizabeth's abilities unnerving Kitrana, and Kit's experience with Elizabeth while facing the Ashen Blight being one of aloof, almost condescending disinterest and a lack of having given her any real chance to prove herself, Kitrana does not trust the woman or enjoy her company. For Leo's sake, she will be amicable towards her and avoid causing issue, but after hearing of recent events from Raalvara, Kitrana's distrust and questioning of Elizabeth's judgment only grows. (NIAH )
+ Charles Kane- They have barely spoken at all face to face, but Kitrana has strong doubts regarding his judgment. In nearly every encounter she has seen him involved in, he has made decisions which she regards as overly dangerous, rash and even outright reckless. The fact that he and Elizabeth criticized her for one controversial disagreement with them while refusing to accept responsibility for his own prior lapses in judgment comes off as blatantly hypocritical and prideful to her. Learning of recent events from Raalvara has not helped this assessment of him any, as she now also heavily questions his choice of allies and who he puts his trust in. (Lannis )
+ Kopii- While Leo has managed to alleviate Kitrana's concerns over Kopii's mental state and relationship with Leo, Kitrana remains completely untrusting of Kopii. He strikes her as emotionally unstable and dangerously reckless. She will tolerate his presence because of Leo's friendship with him, but she will not entrust him with anything sensitive, and she hopes that Leo is smart enough to do the same after what happened in Linlea. (Omikuji )
+ Asero- Kitrana has spoken to Asero and seen him enough to hold some level of disdain for him. More than anything, she simply regards him to be arrogant, self-centered and something of an oaf. She feels incredibly conflicted over his relationship with Laisa and frankly thinks that she is far too good for someone like him, but Leo has convinced her to wait and see what happens. (Electric )

Hated:
+ Jaden Seeker- Kitrana has barely spoken to him face to face and it has not helped his image in her mind. She has heard of many incidents involving him from people she trusts, and her impression of him is that he is arrogant to the point of trying to stand by factually false claims, far too eager to use his eviscism for aggression or simply parlor tricks and harassing others, and loyal to the Kanes simply for the sake of their favor. With hearing of a recent event he was involved in, she is thoroughly convinced that he is dangerously violent and a threat to those around him. (CloakedReaper )

Wary Of:
"You must be pretty intimidating if you make it here."

Claim 3/3

This is a rework of an older character of mine, I'm bringing her back. She's officially active but I may not actually start playing her until winter break, we'll see

Fronslin

Lord of Altera
Mystic
I'd like to point out that Fronslin doesn't really adhere to any particular divine, he sees himself more as a servant to them, and wants them to remain where they are in their slots in the pantheon. He does have some dislikes though.

I didn't really have the words to explain this until now.

ah. She still thinks of him as somewhat a follower of Rahas, just because of his positive comments about him.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The rain danced on the roof of the inn above Kitrana softly. She sat on the foot of her bed, her chainmail removed and laying on the small table in the corner of the cramped room. Her longsword, the one that Tybalt had given her what felt like an eternity ago, was unsheathed and resting across her knee as she slowly, methodically ran the whetstone along the blade. A million thoughts were spinning around in her head. Laisa, Andre, Cassian, the opium gang- too much.

She shifted her gaze up towards the corner of the room. Next to the table, turned facing the wall, was the chair which Kitrana had made into a makeshift crib. Cradled in cloth and hidden from view, the infant girl was sleeping soundly. Laisa. The girl that someone less fortunate than her had abandoned at a shrine in the graveyard, likely because they could barely even feed themselves without a child to care for. Only now was it sinking in what this meant. She had never even considered having children before now, she had too much to do. The endless work. And yet this girl was a part of the endless work. Every bone in her body, every fiber of her being, her head and her heart screamed at her to care for the child and do everything she could to protect her. There was no other option. She could not entrust anyone else with her, not completely. The child was now, as far as she or anyone else was concerned, hers. Laisa Dawnriver.

And yet it terrified her. More than when she had fought a bear. More than when her order attacked and struck down the tyrant who killed her parents. More than any threat of what the drug dealers could do to her, the thought of doing wrong by this child terrified her. More than ever in her mind, there was no room for error, and yet she knew so little about this sort of thing. She also realized what this meant for her. If she was going to raise this child then she had to take care of herself as well, more than she had before. She could not become selfish and stop helping others, but she had to live. For her, she had to survive and be strong. The opium ring had killed Tavia, and threatened the people of the Landing, but if she was to care for Laisa then she could not fight the ring as much as she wanted to. She had to make a choice between her involvement in Laisa's upbringing and her dedication to fighting off the oppressors of the people of Storm's Landing.

And then there was Andre. Persistent, determined Andre. What was she supposed to tell him? She wasn't interested before and she was twice as uninterested now - things had become complicated enough without her trying to work with a romantic interest. She needed more space from him. She could not spare his feelings over her own need for space and independence. She would have to tell him how she felt and it was as simple as that.

She sighed tiredly, looking back down to the sword. She set aside the whetstone, taking a cloth and wiping down the blade carefully, then sliding it back into its sheath and setting it carefully beside the bed. She laid back on the bed, staring up at the ceiling.

For the first time in her life, she had to choose between the one and the many.
