_____________
Crimes and punishments:
House va Rosemont might be a vassal house, it has still been seen as proper to have an official list of laws set out. Do note that Anhald's empire-wide laws are to be followed. Multiple factors go into the determination of a severity level of a crime and a rightful punishment, although some acts, no matter the intent, have a base level of retribution. The severity level may add, or decrease punishment inflicted upon an individual.

Regarding Theft:
Petty (or minor) theft is defined as the intent, motivation, or action of actively seeking and unlawfully taking an item no larger than 1000 radiants in sum. The item(s) that have a valued sum of over 1000 radiants that are stolen under the same definition as above are classified as major theft.
For petty theft, the sum of the value shall be fined from the criminal by the state twicefold, and the item shall be returned to the individual.
For major theft, the prior applies, yet a week is spent imprisoned for every 500 radiants over the initial 1000 radiants stolen.
Assault:
Assault is defined as the attack, or intent to do so upon another person. Any damagees that can be rightfully proven will be used as evidence against the criminal.
The assault of a freeman or freewoman will result in potentially some, of not all of the following: Lashings, long-term imprisonment, public shaming, the taking of the dominant hand, or execution.
Arson:
Arson is defined as the purposeful and deliberate burning of another's belongings, most commonly houses.
Punishment for this awful act is a heavy fine of 5000 radiants, and the burning of all belongings deemed useless by the state, valuables are taken.

Murder:
Murder is the slaying of another person, not via self defense or honorable duel. Murder is viewed as one of the worst things one can do, and is almost always punished with maiming before death.
Slandering of a Noble:
This is defined as speaking ill of the actions and demeanor of the ruling family. This is viewed as one of the worst things one can do within the society of Rose Behalten.
Fines and punishment are to be determined by the victim of such a crime.
