Monster Hunter Generations has been released!

+------------------------------------------------------------------------+
Monster Hunter
+------------------------------------------------------------------------+
Monster Hunter, an action fantasy RPG series that has been going on since the days of the PS2 developed and published by Capcom. The game has switched to various systems, starting off on the PS2 then moving to the PSP, appearing on the Wii and finally is now available on the 3DS.
In the game you take the role of a Monster Hunter tasked with protecting villages, slaying gargantuan beasts, departing on quests given specifically by the Hunters Guild, gathering mushrooms... You start off with nothing to your name and have to acquire everything yourself by setting out on quests and gathering the necessary items be it herbs, ore or monster parts.

In the beginning quests you generally have to fend off small creatures which is easy enough but as you complete more and more of the guilds and villages quests you then have to fight your first large monster. These monsters may not tower over you in size, but they surely will pack quite a punch so stay vigilant and approach with care. Observe the monster and learn its attack patterns, only strike when you see an opening and don't get too greedy as greedy hunters are often dead hunters. After defeating your first large monster you can carve it which will give monster parts. These parts can be used to craft new weapons and armour to help even the odds when fighting. You'll then go on to fight bigger monsters and craft better gear, then bigger and better, and then even bigger and even better.

Gunlance - Similar to the lance but with added firepower, you'll be blasting monsters to pieces with this hand-held piece of artillery. Charge up a devastating attack with the power of Wyvern Fire.

Switch Axe - Switch from two forms, axe and blade. Use the range of the axe to fight monsters at a safe distance with its swift combo moves or bring the fight to them with the sword form and its destructive charge burst.

Happy Hunting
+------------------------------------------------------------------------+
This game seems to be all about the 'fours' as well. It is the fourth generation of Monster Hunter, there are four hunting styles, four villages to visit and four flagships monster. Yes unlike the other games, this one has four flagship monsters which I will be going into more detail on during the countdown. So check back tomorrow for info on the first of the four monsters, the Glavenus. Feel free to discuss down below.

That is, if anyone else plays this game...

The Glavenus
Cutting Wyvern
MHGen-Glavenus_Render_001.png
This monster is the first of the four flagship monsters introduces in Monster Hunter Generations and is known as the Cutting Wyvern. Its species is Brute Wyvern and this monster is generally found in heated areas such as the desert or areas with a volcano present. The Glavenus' most prominent feature is it's large, blade-like tail allowing the monster to stay at a safe distance from hunters whilst slashing away. It uses the fire element to shoot projectiles at the hunters and can sharpen its tail with its mouth to cause fiery explosions when attacking with the tail. Tail sharpening also gives the Glavenus extended range. It can also crack the ground and block attacks with it's tail.

It's signiture move is the Heated Tailspin. The Glavenus can cause Fireblight with its attacks. This blight causes hunters heal to slowly deplete while also negating the hunters natural recovery. To get rid of the blight the hunter can use a nulberry, roll in water once or roll three to four times on land. The Glavenus is also weak to the Water and Dragon elements.

The Glavenus hunters encounter is always male and is a relentless and aggressive predator. This has caused hunters to consider this one of the strongest brute Wyverns. The Glavenus' tail has three stages Sharpened, Heated and Dull and when this monster is engraged, the spikes on its back turn red.

When the Glavenus is fatigued, it will fail to shoot fire projectiles like monster such as the Rathian and will also trip itself after some tail attacks. When this monster is weakened it will start limping which shows it is available for capture.

The Astalos
Electric Wyvern

MHGen-Astalos_Render_001.png
The Astalos is the second of the four flagship monsters in Monster Hunter Generations. It is part of the Flying Wyvern species and this particular monster is generally found in grassy cliff side areas but strangely can also be found in the marsh. The main feature of this monster is the green electricity surging within its body, most notably within its wings, tail and horn and because of this, the Astalos' main element is Thunder. This monsters whole body is an electrical organ and the more it fights, the more electrical charge it gains. The signature move of the Astalos is Electric beam causing pillars of green lightning to travel across the battlefield

One of the ailments caused by the Astalos is Paralysis, causing hunters to fall over with shock. This ailment can only be waited out. The other ailment caused by the Astalos is Thunderblight. This blight makes the hunter easier to stun and makes it harder for the hunter to escape monster attacks. This effect can be nullified using a nulberry or rolling seven times.

All Astalos' fought by hunters are male and are aggressive towards hunters and monsters. The Astalos is covered in sharp dark green plating causing the slightest touch to harm hunters and monsters alike.

When the Astalos is fatigued it's attacks and movement will be slowed, and when weakened, will start limping.

The Gammoth
Giant Beast

MHGen-Gammoth_Render_001.png
The Gammoth is the third flagship monster of Monster Hunter Generations. It is part of the Fanged Beast species and is usually found in cold and snowy areas such as the Arctic Ridge, Frozen Seaway or Polar Field. The main feature of this massive creature is the hard plating on covering its head, feet with its horns being a similar material as well as being able to encase parts of its body in ice. The main element of the Gammoth is the Ice Element. The signiture move of the gammoth is the Rearing Smash where the Gammoth take a step back and plows straight ahead before smashing whatever is in front of the Gammoth with its tusks.

One of the Ailments causes by the Gammoth is called Snowman, this causes the hunter to be encased in a ball of snow. While the hunter can walk around they cannot perform any action, to break out of this the hunter must use a cleanser or be struck by a teammate. The other ailment is called Iceblight, this blight causes Hunters to use more stamina when performing actions, a nulberry can nullify this blight. The Gammoth is weak to the Thunder and Fire elements.

All Gammoths fought are female, extremely territorial and they are a herbivorous species. Though because of their extreme size, they have little to fear in way of predators and are know to kill predators intruding on its territory in one powerful blow.

Like other monsters, when fatigued the Gammoths attacks and movements slow, and when weakened with start limping.

The Mizutsune
Bubble Fox Wyvern

MHGen-Mizutsune_Render_001.png

The Mizustune is the fourth and last flagship monster of Monster Hunter Generations. It is part of the Leviathan species and is usually found in forested ares with a large body of water such as the Misty Peaks or the Primal Forest. The main feature of this monster is its ability to create bubbles in its fur and also breath bubbles. This also being the signiture move of the Mizutsune as well the ability to shoot a high pressure jet of water from its mouth.

The Mizustune causes the waterblight ailment which causes stamina to recover at a slower rate than normal. To get ride of this blight, use a nulberry to nullify the effects. The Mizustune is weak to the Thunder and Dragon elements.

All Mizustune fought are male and are a calm species unless provoked. They tend to rest near large bodies of water. While they will avoid confrontations, they will defend themselves if they have to though they will not chase after the threat if it flees.

Like other monsters, when fatigued the Mizustunes attacks and movements slow, and when weakened it will start limping.

I uhhh, guess I'll put some stuff here, since I got an extra claim :p

~ Monster Hunter Stuff ~
There are a total of 105 monsters in Monster Hunter Generations, within that are 17 new monsters added to the game. The Leviathan monster species also makes a comeback.

As well as having Palicoes as companions, you can also hunter monsters as then. These playable cat hunters are called Nyanta, they can burrow underground, gather faster, have no stamina, can resurrect twice before carting but are not as strong as human hunters.

Weapon upgrading has been revamped. Instead of a specific list of items needed to be gathered, any sort of item in a category listed can be used in the upgrade.

The four flagship monsters are nicknamed the Fated Four.

nothing else I can think of, though I'll alert you when the game is out :p

OH NO, I HAVE ALMOST DERAILED THE HYPE TRAIN WITH TOO MANY TRAINS GETTING OFF TRACK!

EVEN THE MONSTERS CAN'T HANDLE IT

YEAH MONSTER HUNTER!!!

Tell me, what's your favourite weapon. I LOVE the sword and shield, it's so damn versitile and has a move-set to rival all others, plus is quick and not too flashy. I am partial to the Gunlance and the Heavy Bowgun however :p
