The Current Nation States Map:

(I highly, highly recommend opening the map in a new tab or something with zoom ability.)

Additional Maps:

Map Key:
> Triangles represent mountains
> Trees represent forests
> Horizontal lines represent deserts
> "Tuffs of grass" represent swampland

Demographics:
> The easternmost continent is primarily inhabited by Asian-inspired nations.
> The central northern continent is primarily inhabited by European-inspired nations.
> The westernmost continent is primarily inhabited by Hispanic-inspired nations.
> The southwestern island-continent is primarily inhabited by a militaristic autocracy.

Initial Claiming Procedure: (N/A)
Every nation may now make a claim to ONE territory on the map; expansion will begin next week after most everyone has been placed.

The order for which nations have higher priority claims, as determined by d20 rolls, is as follows:
1, 3 - Octois
1, 6 - Zanala
1, 12 - Kronea
3, 4 - Sammaru
3, 18 - Diojaran
4 - Nicronia
5, 3 - Diaedor
5, 7 - Chicanista
5, 14 - Binaris
6 - [Volopia Alt]
7 - Caelumnia
8, 2 - Kogata
8, 6 - Curitis
10, 8 - Falsark
10, 9 - Harvendir
11 - Imdolia
12 - Nakadria
14 - Dorthan
16 - Arhemia
17, 8 - New Kindar
17, 9 - Croakarilla
18 - Holdtstein
20 - Tarcheya
AUTO LAST - Hollow World Administrator (one territory for council building; no expansion allowed)

The priority order only includes new nations. If a new nation is created after this date, they will automatically be added to the bottom of the list (excepting the council territory pick).

The only exception to this is @Ray1333 , as he has been auspiciously quiet for a few days but I don't have the heart to just kick him to the bottom of the list; this is why you see a [Volopia Alt] on the list to hold his position until he can make a pick. However, if he does not reply by the weekend when we start expanding, I will have to drop him down to the bottom of the list.
How to Make a Claim:
You may make a claim at any time by posting a map highlighting the territory you want (paint skillz). However, if there is a dispute between players for that territory or a territory considered too close for comfort, then the priority order will be used to decide who's claim is upheld.

When you make your claim, please also include a dot or something to mark the location of your nation's capital. I'd like to go ahead and figure out where the capitals are right off the bat rather than have to go back and ask people where they are later on; we never did end up receiving the locations of all the capitals for the old map, despite the weeks that map was being setup over.

If you have any further questions, please let me know!

Prerequisites for Expansion into New Territories:

For every 10 total Defense Forces points, a nation is allowed to gain one additional territory.

For every 10 total Religiousness points, a nation is allowed to gain one additional territory.

For every 10 total Culture points, a nation is allowed to gain one additional territory.

These points may be found on a nation's Analysis page under their respective categories.

Notes on Points and Claims:

> All claims are part of a nation's total claims. Points from Culture, Defense Forces, and Religiousness contribute to total claims, not weekly claims.

> Claims categories stack. You do not need to have points in all categories to claim, but you may use all categories to claim. In other words, you are not forced to use either Defense Forces or Religiousness or Culture to make claims; instead, you may use Defense Forces and Religiousness and Culture.

> Points must be calculated separately to determine the number of claims per category, and then the number of claims from each category may be added together. For example, a nation with 8 Culture, 53 Defense Forces, and 3 Religiousness would have 0 claims from Culture, 5 claims from Defense Forces, and 0 claims from Religiousness for a total of 5 claims. The same nation could not add 8 + 53 + 3 for 64 points and 6 claims.

> Territories claimed using Religiousness or Culture points must be adjacent to a territory already under your nation's control.

> Negative points on a scale do not detract from a nation's ability to claim new territories.

> Points may not be used to claim territory owned by another nation.

> Territories claimed using the points system are not immune to RP infringement by another nation.

> Only RP may be used in territorial disputes between nations, though the use of Analysis stats to guide RP is encouraged.

How to Make an Expansion Claim:

On this thread, post pictures highlighting the territories you wish to claim, or describe their location in detail. In addition, please post your nation's current Defense Forces, Religiousness, and Culture points to show that your nation has met the prerequisites to allow you to claim all the new territories you have requested.

The map will be updated weekly, typically over the weekend, to reflect the new territorial claims that have been made. Please do not expect new territorial claims to instantly be added to the map.

Not to sound harsh or anything, but anyone who doesn't tell me where their capital is, I'll be placing it for you, so be sure to put a dot somewhere on your claims!
