Physiology - Around 1'-1'5". Small hands and feet, big ears (they use them to navigate), mostly blind, they tend to burrow. Long tongue.

Climate - Cold, snowy regions.

Habitat - Northern forests, mountains.

Diet - Nuts, berries.

Hunting - Small birds, rodents.

Behaviour:
  • Pack animals, never in groups smaller than 3. Social creatures.
  • They're very social and will go to extreme lengths to defend each other.
  • When faced with large predators, they often flee.
  • If they're kept solitary and in captivity, their lifespans shorten by a considerable amount (2-3 years).
  • They groom each other often, not unlike primates.
  • The females have stronger/sharper teeth and claws, and they hunt most for the group. Males tend to the young, keeping them warm and safe in the early stages of their lives.
  • When they reach maturity, most children stay with their groups, but sometimes (in groups of two or more), they go off in search of a new group.
  • When a pair mates, it's for life. They never find another mate after their partners death.
Lifespan - 1-7yrs

Aging - Spend first 6 weeks of their lives as pinkies, then take 2yrs to reach full size/maturity.

Other:
  • Thick, warm fur in winter, shed during warmer seasons.
  • Nest in trees in warmer regions, they build nests in a circled shape, with a small hole for them to get inside.
  • Can fit through any hole they get their heads through.

Rumor tells tale that sightings of these creatures have been sparse lately. It is unknown how or why, but it is known to those who have actually witnessed them that they have not seen many of them even before. Speculation leans on their settlements being overrun by humans and the creatures themselves being hunted or captured.

(Out of interest of freshening beast lore- these creatures may be endangered now)
