General Story

The Southgate family earned their wealth producing and selling mead. When the father passed away, he inherited all of the family wealth. It was always in Falliren's nature to be an adrenaline-junkie, and being raised in a wealthy household turned him into somewhat of a spoiled brat. He has used his inheritance to do some pretty expensive thrill-rides, such as fighting a war against Veraci (he did have a just cause, however). Falliren won many engagements while also performing some underhanded tactics. Afterward the war's end, he was ambushed at Storm's Landing and later killed.

For a time, it seemed Falliren had completely abandoned his old lifestyle and ways. He found religion through Ignis and became a devout follower. Some say, the faith turned him into somewhat of a lifeless construct, showing little emotion save for a few bouts of irritation. Time passed by, he served the Hardangers and various other religious orders dutifully. But then he caught a sickness--which at first appeared to be a common cold--but the symptons never showed any signs of leaving. For months, he was bedridden and barely found the strength for evening strolls.

Winter became spring, and then summer passed without a hint of news. But then Falliren suddenly emerged... Out from his cottage, he was possessed by a new flamboyance and unusual cheekiness. Nobody is quite sure what epiphany he had; perhaps he realized life was too beautiful to waste in the dreary corridors of a monastery. Nevertheless, he's found purpose again.

Falliren isn't quite sure how to view his past. Ambivalence wouldn't even begin to describe it. While yes, he isn't exactly proud of everything he did and certainly won't be letting everyone know his business. But at the same time, he has found memories of that period and feels very accomplished with the many victories he did score. Earlier in his life (especially during the religious phase), it brought him great shame, seldom mentioning the topic at all. But after surviving the sickness, the rose-tinted glasses may never come off. After all, he was only a teenager at the time, and they can be quite silly, so why beat yourself over all the actions? Besides, he had a righteous conviction. There are some things he'll never justify nor ever accept, things that still bring him shame.

Relations

Aleksei - blargtheawesome - His superior. He admires his skill and leadership, although Falliren feel as if he's overlooked sometimes.

Nemanja - FrostGuardian - He finds his episodes of dramatic, smoldering intensity to be quite comical. Enjoys picking on him and finds him to be good company.

Matt - Sergeant Freedom - Falliren enjoys teasing him, although he wonders if it'll ever get him into trouble, considering he's the superior's son.

Deacon - Elt - First encounter involved them being pelted at by a goblin with mud. They seem to a have budding friendship.

Branko - Kostadim - Falliren remembers when he first met Branko at a tavern and gave him his first job as a mercenary. Now he has his own evil empire and is causing havoc everywhere. Although they are meant to be opposed, Falliren can't help but feel somewhat proud of the man.
