Athryl has lived many lives. It wears upon him, as it does for many who live to be so old in the Realm. His faith and his children are what keep him alive today - for they are what push him to the ultimate extremes of his actions, whether good or bad. He does not see himself beyond what he truly is; The Keeper of Knowledge. He will do what he must to defend such, until his last breath.
[ SCARS & MARKINGS ]
❖ SCARS OF CORRUPTION || Upon his face and hands, Athryl holds deep-seeded scars that run across in tendrils. They are of the darkened corruption that once held him when the false God, Harateth, held control over his mind long ago.
❖ YEARS OF AGE || Athryl holds the common markings of a man in his sixties, for a Silver Elf. Wrinkles are beginning to cover his face.

Athryl is a man of wisdom. He has spent his life in the pursuit of Knowledge, and it has granted him much - but also taken much from him. It is hard, often, for him to deal with this loss. It is his weakness. He is stubborn, conniving, and truly chaotic in these times. It was not always this way, but he finds now that in order to get what he must, and to obtain peace of Knowledge for all.. he must do whatever necessary. For that is what He would want, and what She would want.
[ STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES ]
❖ MASTER OF THE MIND || Athryl has spent years learning, understanding, and keeping Knowledge. Now, as a Cogimens, his mind has unlocked even further. His intellect is his strongest part of him.
❖ ILLUSIONIST || Athryl is moving in the ranks of Cogimency, specifically in Sensory Illusion. He is able to craft the world around him to his liking.
❖ PATIENCE || But a man who has waited years for everything, he is patient. It doesn't matter if he must wait until the end of time for his goals; for he will.
❖ RESOLUTE || His incredible loss of his family, his friends, his town, and now even Candlewood drive him - for they do not destroy him. After years of imprisonment, torture, and mental grief - he remains driven in his goals. Each failure is a moment to learn. Each mistake is a moment to grow. From this, he thrives.

❖ HARBINGER OF CHAOS || This name was granted by the Grey Lady herself. Athryl is a man that will do whatever it takes, no matter the cost, to achieve his goals. He does not believe in Good and Evil anymore. He simply believes in what is right and wrong. Athryl is always right.. even if he is not.
[ SHORT AND LONG TERM GOALS ]
❖ CANDLEWOOD || After the Demonic Incursion and the destruction of Candlewood, Athryl seeks to rebuild the place anew - bigger, stronger. Deeper roots.
❖ KNOW || Athryl continues with his hopes of empowering and bringing Know to the forefront of his worship. With his reality weakened, it is time for this to be further implemented.
❖ CAEL || His son. A delicate subject by any means - the untouched guilt that remains there is a weakness to him, and thus it must be handled at once.
❖ KEEPER OF KNOWLEDGE || His title granted by Silas. One he must refind, reforge, and renew. He will be the greatest man of knowledge the world has ever known.
❖ THE WATCHER || May the Watcher burn for what he did to his family, and to his God. He will stop at nothing to see him fall, one day.
❖ MITHTANIL || To continue the Mithtanil name - to hold a new line of his own. So that what he does, everything he does.. matters. Family is what grounds him in this life - makes him pure.
❖ KNOWLEDGE || The Archangel of Visage. It does not belong to him, and it will be taken from him. No matter what - to keep the world safe from the darkness of his mysteries. Knowledge belongs in the pure light.

Athryl is focused in the art of Alchemy for most of his life. He has been a scholar, a mayor, a librarian, and a priest for his time on this realm; and uses such in his knowledge capabilities. More recently, he is experienced in the art of Cogimency. The unlocking of his mind has proved useful to him in many of situations; and he can now control the world around him.

DEATHS || Rarely does he speak upon such; but two.
Athryl's history is a long, winding road spanning over centuries. His life began in a loving family that turned wicked; and soon, as a young man, he made his way to Port Silver to learn about life and all that it had to offer. From there he met many people; many faces. These faces impacted him in ways he cannot even fathom, but subconsciously shaped him to who he is today. As time continued, so did the efforts of the world. Corruption spread - and he was affected by it.
Harateth and Theodra entrapped his mind for many years, and he served as a pawn amongst their game of destruction. Using power to destroy - and in doing such he became a fool in trying to escape. It wasn't until the world was ready for him in which he let the curse slip away. Then, came Thiil.. and Aracena.
He built Thiil as a place of peace - harmony. For scholars, knowledge, and solitude. Away from the politics of the great Houses, which were ever-present at this time. It was a beautiful landscape, a land he was fond of.. and he met the woman of his dreams that changed his life forever.
His world. His sun. His moon. Everything between was Aracena. She was the morning dew upon grass, the golden rays of sun as the night fell. Everything all at once, and for a time - it was magical. Nothing could stop them, for they were devoted to eachother in life and in love. Their children, growing, learning - discovering the world through bright and inquiring eyes. Then, the Madness seeped in. It consumed Aracena, the Mad God choosing her to be his pawn. Years were spent fighting against it.
Cracks began to form. First, it was small.. as if it was a bump upon glass. Then.. it shattered. Her life taken from him. Visage rising to power. His children falling. All of it, gone. It wasn't until he found his faith in Silas that he began to see a world beyond Thiil. Beyond Madness.
Silas shaped that for him. Changed who he was - allowed him to aid Aracena in her final days before she was taken. He showed him great many things; the grandest library of all, the universe's questions unlocking to him. From this, bred faith. A deep faith that Athryl never knew. It wasn't like the love he held for Aracena, for it was far deeper. It was himself. Aracena was simply the matching piece to him - but Silas? Silas and Athryl were one. Their doctrine the same. Thus, his Exalted status rose.
Upon the Exodus, Athryl brought forth a new age of the creation of the Compendium. A place that was built as a valley of knowledge, a place that meant so much to him. Before Silas' death.. he lost faith. He fell from such - and he left for many years.
Now, he has returned to the Kingdoms. His faith renewed, in an effort to restore what was lost. But what does he truly wish to gain through all of this? Power? Knowledge? Or a chance to restore his family, once more - the missing pieces of him still gone from this world.

❖ AHAB MITHTANIL {Son} || His son that he and Aracena both share. He loves both his children more than anything. He would do anything for them. He will not let their life become like his. Never. Sadly, they ended far too soon. May they both rest easy with their mother, forever and always.

❖ SILAS | KNOW || The one, the only. || Athryl’s devotion remains pure and true, for as long as he can. He dedicates all to them. He believes full heartedly in what he must do to preserve Silas, and restore the sanctity of Knowledge. He will do whatever it takes. There is not a number that could matter, for his devotion is above all else.
❖ CAEL MITHTANIL || The Sun to my Moon. || Oh Cael. How happy he makes Athryl, even if he does not know it. His greatest achievement, his happiest prize, returned to him. He knows that he will make Athryl proud. He fears that he will lose him, like his mother & brother before. ❖ ROSE ALTHAM || The sweetest of the garden. || Rose is a flower that Athryl just adores. Her presence, her wisdom, and her kindness inspire him to be better than what he is. ❖ LUNA CROW || My little one. || Luna is like a daughter to him. He loves her so, and even though they are not always together, he is so proud of how she has grown & the steps she is taking to make herself a bright light in Candlewood. She makes him proud, like Cael, everyday. What more could he wish from her, other than for her to be herself and allow her space find pride for her. She does not need anyone’s approval but her own. ❖ LANA "WAKE" SILVEIRA || Opposites Attract. || Lana and Athryl are on polar opposites of almost everything, besides one thing. The pursuit of knowledge. He feels that they are two sides of the same coin - different ideologies, different paths, but all for the greater truth. He admires her tenacity, her spirit, and her drive. ❖ MATHIAS V IVANOV || The Fool of the Sun. || To Athryl, Matthew is everything he regrets. What he thought would be a man of upstanding caliber in Candlewood became a flight risk. His unforeseen abandonment to Aleksei was the ultimate betrayal in Athryl's eyes. He feels that one day a path to redemption for them both is on the cards, but his flippant craving for power is a dangerous game that Athryl wishes not to play in.
