Oh dear god I wasn't expecting this at all, not one bit, however I shall call on whatever god or demon that'll give me aid in retelling the story of 'old'. First of all, I'd like to point out my story might be a bit comically twisted and to give credit to the people in the story Cap Lavilethorn Smurf. Smrruf being the DM, Alduin being Alustrum- Joseph's Ranger Mentor and Cap starring as Florian. This is the best this Freshman can do.

-------------------------------------

Lightning cracked through the night sky, shining through the dark murky clouds without even appearing blotted and then the roaring wave came upon Joe’s ears, making the melodramatic flashback trigger. On a similar night back when Joseph had been Apprenticed under Alustrum Godfrey, Sentinel of the Rangers that had partnered themselves with Cordenth, in cold blood a woman lay dead. A horse was stolen leaving behind the still warm corpse, while horse hooves hitting flagstones and worn cobble pathways ricochet off the walls, the galloping storming with the thunder. A bounty ensued quickly after, ten thousand radiants for that rogue woman, and an eager Apprentice with a Grumpy Mentor to take up the call.

Southbound was the destination of their quarry however transportation would be needed, and it was time for Joseph to straddle himself on horseback alongside Alustrum. During their course of travel Joe would ask Alustrum many questions, to the Mentor's dismay all the while Alustrum was hunched over on the horse, inspecting the ground closely at their cantered pace for any tracks of horse hooves. Eventually, as Joe was in the midst of another off-pointed question Alu held a hand up with a finger raised to the air and immediately Joe’s voice faltered and halted. The duo came to a halt and the Mentor gestured hugely to the hoof prints trotted into the ground, the ground soft and malleable from the rain of the night before worked in their favor.

The path twisted and long, through thick fields of grass, dancing as the whispering winds would have them. In a clearing with a tall, proud Cerulean Crown the tracks told the story to the experienced tracker, off to northeast in the rolling earth. The hills gradually rose revealing rock and stone, this proved to make the pace of their hunt slower. Grey clouds drifted into the horizon like wisps, revealing dark anger within them as the storm was still filled with rage. With dying light and rain soon to come to wither away at the tracks, hope diminished, yet was not lost. Rest was needed momentarily as they retired to their cloaks, and took some burden from their horses.

The storm proved to be weaker, with less rage than before, brief was the storm and their time to rest. When set to lead off on the trail that was ever getting colder, a knightly figure by the name of Florian had found himself with the same goal as the two rangers. The air of the union of the trio was filled with hesitant caution only to swiftly fade away. Alustrum led once more down the hill, only to find a pack pony to be grazing alone and free from person. It was the stolen horse that belonged to Florian, and the burdened was taken back under his care once more.

Within a good half hour, Alustrum had become more frantic, searching the ground even more closely than before. No leaf or stone was left unturned nearby that tree, as it seemed the trail had finally grown ice cold. With the light fading as the sun sank behind the horizon, the trio came to an agreement of camping there for the night. Then as Florian and Alustrum were making camp, Joseph felt the sense of nature overtake him, telling his Mentor in haste that he had the call of nature and bounded into the thicket quickly. Joseph began to untie the cord to his pants, swiftly and before his pants did drop, there in front of him lay bootprints trodden into the ground. He let out a cry and his companions were alerted and hastily Joe tied the cord of his pants and stepped out of the way, kneeling to inspect the tracks.

Why do I breathe.

To all those of who are interested, with a slow journey filled with precaution, it came fruitless and minor injury befell to Alustrum and Joseph’s horse. A wolf den lying slain and with the tracks ever disappearing, they turned back to Storm’s Landing in low spirits.

Since Joe hasn't added it to the story yet. Might as well upload it here too!
