The following poster is hung up in Storm’s Landing, Astrakhan, Halbed, Aelmere, and Blackstone.

TO THE PRETENDER AND HIS “ARMY”
You have taken a part of the Motherland of the Dominion. You have attacked and slaughtered our soldiers. With these crimes, you and your men have made yourselves enemies to the Dominion and to the Asrakosian people.

There will no doubt be many cowards who will support your claim to glut themselves on treasures. But cowards cannot form armies, and armies are what win wars.

Therefore, tyrant, we will not call this a war. It will be a purging of corruption and treachery.

TO THOSE WHO ATTEMPT TREASON

Fear is a powerful tool, and it is no doubt understandable that many Valereans will comply with the demands of the warmongering barbarians. For those who were afraid for their families and wellbeing, but otherwise despised House Godfrey, know that the Basileos will seek nothing from you but your loyalty.

However, for those who took advantage of the chaos for themselves, you will find less sympathy in the Basileos.

What turned you against your countrymen? Was it gold? Was it the promise of power? Was it some other lie spun by these barbarians?

Did they promise you a return to the Republic? Look now- even your beloved Sulla has turned against his word and has become a governor of a dictatorship. A dictatorship that no doubt will not serve the people as the Herenii did, but to their own agenda; Tyranny and Greed.

In the coming weeks, as you rejoice over your new leader, look for the removal of your local autonomy. Look for the removal of your free speech. Look for the lack of compassion within this “Kaiser’s” heart. When all this is said and done, sit and think; was this the Great Alternative that was promised to you? The answer will be yes.

When the city is taken back, you will find that there will be mercy, compassion and freedom for all those who had remained loyal to the Herenii. Valerius will retain the ability for it to set it’s own local laws and taxes. Valerius will retain it’s free speech, like all settlements in the Dominion. It would be unjust to punish an entire city for the wrongdoings of a few miserable curs.

But to those wretches who had betrayed us- along with the Sullas- you will not even be able to enjoy the swift death most becoming of true men. No, you will suffer in whatever fashion befits your level of treason.

Not to be picky, but wont promising death due to treason discorage people to rebel?

Yes. That’s the point. He’s telling the rebels to get back in line unless they want to die.
