''Initiated by Brigadier Galdor Brelingen to impose a new order within the military of Turia”

The Galdorian Military system focuses on the idea of a state run national army. The system works by creating one large army instead of multiple squads or armies for different regions. In this respect it would centralise the military within Turia whilst also allowing for a more even spread on the Garrisons in cities such as Le Havre and Azerport.

Basic Information and structure

Soldiers within the system would be fielded from the general population of Turia, these Citizens would be assigned a post across the Empire where they would act as the garrison force as well as peacekeepers. Housing, food and Equipment would be provided by the state allowing any citizen to advance and thrive within the Turian military. Officers would have a similar system with the idea of battle prowess and skill deciding the ranking of a soldier not his Social standing within the Empire. For new recruits training would last for a period of 6 weeks ( 2 weeks OOC) unless in war where this would be shortened to 3 weeks (1 week OOC). This training would be conducted by ether veteran soldiers or sergeants posted within each garrison.

The structure of the model Imperial Army is simple yet effective. with very little in terms of ranks, the system allows for a more controlled and precise army.

Structure

  • General: Chosen by a council of the sergeants this is the only position that is more difficult to achieve. The General acts as the main commander of the Turian Military, he would be advised in situations by his Sergeants but he overall would make the final decision. this man is also controlled by the Emperor and must swear an oath of loyalty to him before he can accept the position.

  • Brigadier: Chosen from the best of the army and placed into the Military Council. These men advise the General on decisions in battle and relay his orders to the Troops. The Brigadier also act as voters with the Emperor, the Brigadier may offer a candidate but the Emperor makes the final decision for the next General. These soldiers would also be in command of the garrisons in each major city. Controlling positions, training and logistics.

  • Prétoriens:The backbone of the Turian Military, these Soldiers act as peacekeepers and soldiers. These men act as the bulk of the Army, they are controlled through the sergeants and must take an oath to Turia before joining. The army as referenced earlier, will be provided for by the state and will take active tours allowing for them to return home every so often from where the are garrisoned within Turia. Each soldier will be specialised to assist in a certain way, with some learning medicine and other learning to use a bow.

Requirements

Any man,elf or earthspawn can join the Turian army, however they are requested to take an oath before joining.Religion also provides very little obstruction as almost any of the pantheon are excepted apart from such gods as visage and Jishrim. Previous military experience is not needed as basic training will be given at the beginning and during each active tour however it is always a benefit to have. Age is the final situation with each maximum and minimum variating per race:

Men- Minimum:16 Maximum:41

Elves- Minimum:16 Maximum:250

Earthspawn-Minimum:16 Maximum:41

(Older males may be enlisted in a time when troop numbers are low)

Occupations

The soldiers of Turia act as the sword and shield of the empire. These men provide an offensive agenda in war but also a defencive peacekeeping role during times of recovery. The life of these soldiers however do not revolve around war, each soldier will act as the garrison force of each city but are not required to defend it at all times. these men depending on where they are stationed will have full access to the facility of each city within reason. Most jobs will be handed out by one of the sergeants in charge of the barracks in each city, these can variate depending on the situation at hand but most will be involved in guarding or patrolling.

Initial process

Every month there will be a period of recruitment where any male can join after this the opportunity will close. When a citizen joins the Turian military he is given a city to which he is posted. This is often decide by the needs of each city, once posted there the citizen will partake in training that would last for a period of 6 weeks ( 2 weeks OOC) unless in war where this would be shortened to 3 weeks (1 week OOC). This training would be conducted by ether veteran soldiers or sergeants posted within each garrison. After this period they will become soldiers of Turia and in turn will receive their equipment. To avoid homesickness and boredom a military swap will take place every month, moving the garrison of Le Havre to Azerport and Azerports garrison to Le havre. These garrisons would also patrol towns within the area of the city e.g. Champanc, twilight falls.( This paragraph is open to change on these rules and ideas).

Provisions and Equipment

The Imperial army under the Galdorian system would have the majority of it’s essentials provided for by the state. Weapons and armour would be provided by trained craftsmen and metal workers, while food would be provided by farmers in many of Turia’s fields and farms. Housing would also be added though barracks and other accommodation.

The standard equipment would be as follows:

Prétoriens:
  • 1 x Steel chestplate
  • 1 x Steel thigh guard
  • 2 x Steel shin and knee guards
  • 2 x Steel gauntlets
  • 1 x Steel helmet

For the sake of the Turien military I hope the brigadiers and generals do not actually have horns/wings on their helmets
