I was doing some late night writing, when I got pinged on my phone that the greatest songwriter in American history just released something on his YT. Obviously, I had to check it out ASAP. For the past month or so, Paul Simon has been teasing an album called In The Blue Light which will be a collection of old songs that he wanted to revisit and remake--build new arrangements, change lyrics, the whole nine yards. I've been excited of course, and this recent release has only stoked the fires hotter.
The original has a rich bass line and lots of percussion rhythm instruments, and is off of his 1990 album Rhythm Of The Saints. Regardless of your feelings towards this iteration, I recommend listening to the original--absolutely fantastic music--sublime.
