In all honesty, bows are already hard enough to deal with in RP, because, in -real- life standards, they'd aim for the head or heart or something, and in Rp, you can't really -dodge- an arrow, unless you know it's coming, which makes it...so...hard to Rp xD

I was dubious that bows could really outclass swords since I don't really know of any reports or even legends of bowmen beating swordsmen in single combat. However, I found this while searching and it certainly emphasizes how important bows became in the middle ages, so I'm almost certainly wrong to be dubious:

Actually... The armed response unit train you too always aim for the chest in a kill or be killed situation...

You are told only too aim for a leg or arm IF you have the time too take MULTIPLE shots. The reason for aiming at the chest is it has a larger surface area and has the highest chance of being hit. You will never be told too go for "head shots" due to the fact it is a typically a harder area to hit. Computer games have fooled this generation into thinking "yay headshot! 1 hit kill smash brainzie!"

Note. This is not aimed at you, just a general quote. Plus I'm on about modern times and have no knowledge about bow warfare.

Nope, a Short Bow can be used a lot more quickly than a Crossbow and less training. Crossbows mean you have to actually possess more strength to simply pull back the Drawstring
Edit: Dosn't mean you can be good with either without training though~!

You are seriously over-estimating crossbows....

Also, just because you are a dwarf does not mean you are strong.
In fact, pound for pound, you are weaker than earthspawn and even humans.
