I'll try no promises I tried so hard to watch Puella Madoka Magicka a while back. I know it's not really about Magical girls and is supposed to be great but I could not bring myself to watch anymore after the first episode I was just done.
Madoka magica IS about magixal girls which is the very reason I never watched it >>

I'd say Spice and Wolf is pretty good. It's got two seasons.
It's a bit like Slice of life though, rather than anything..
S' also a Comedy romance. I recommend sub over dub~
I agree that Spice and Wolf is excellent, however, I highly recommend the dub over the sub; the voice acting for Horo/Holo is just too good to pass.

As for my recommendations, I recommend just about anything put together by Gen Urobuchi. The main shows of his are Fate/Zero, Pyscho-Pass, and Madoka Magica (magical girl, but also not magical girl). In fact, you're already watching one of his shows: Aldnoah.Zero.

if you watch the dub of SPice and Wolf you miss lelouch's voice on the trader ;)

You have to watch the first three episodes before the show really starts showing its true colors.

I know I started watching Aldonah.Zero after I watched Fate/Zero for the first time. Psycho Pass I've watched up until season 2, I hear there's a movie that I haven't gotten around to yet though.

On the Spice and Wolf dub, it's just so good. And I watched Code Geass dubbed as well....which I kind of liked. About the only anime dub I've heard that I despised was Angel Beats. It was a solid show it's just the dub was grating on my ears.

Yeah, you really don't want to lose your head over the first few episodes. It must have been a real weight off the writers' shoulders to finally go ahead with the real plot.

If you do decide to retry watching Madoka Magica, I highly recommend watching it subbed rather than dubbed. Personally, I think the voice acting for the characers is far more enjoyable in the sub than the dub, specifically with regards to Kyubey; Kyubey just feels portrayed far more accurately in the sub because of the voice acting.

I used to only watch dubs, it wasn't until I was forced to watch the SAO 2 sub because I couldn't wait for it to be dubbed. From then on I can no longer watch dubs. I hate them, they sound awful. I even went back and watched the first 14 episodes of SAO (Because I actually really love it up to that) and I tried it in dubbed because that's what I originally watched it in dub but I just couldn't. The American voices are just, ew. I wish I'd watched all anime in sub now.

Also here is a list of all the anime I've watched:

Not all dubs are bad, but yes, in general, subs are more accurate in portraying character personalities.

Again, though, there are exceptions, such as Spice and Wolf, which has incredibly good dubbing.

I think some dubs are done well, personally I just can't watch it though, it just doesn't sound right to me. I also enjoy picking up on some Japanese words, only basic ones of course but still.

I totally understand and I've watched enough sub that it's really growing on me and I've picked up a few words here and there as well. I just love good dubs and I feel obligated to watch them too. There are so few good dubs out there I want to watch them if nothing else than to encourage that industry to grow a bit in English speaking countries.

Just watched Noragami- and it was actually really enjoyable. I think I described it to Deash as having a fairly typical anime trope: "We're totally not into each other like that, but WE'RE SOULMATES." Despite that, I thought it was a very nice mush of modern-day Japan and traditional Shinto mythology. Quite nice.

Compare quality and fitting for yourself taking Code Geass as example.
(Fate Stay Night is also a good example)

Code Geass had a good English dub (the german dub made C.C a 'sissy' :p )
Emperor Charles English VA did work comparable to the original in terms of quality and sound
vs original

Note here that the Japanese VA(Norio Wakamoto) often ends up voicing villains, so getting this close to the original is actually pretty good work on the English VA's side.

Lelouch's English VA did a rather good performance too.

Fate/Stay have been mentioned:

C.C.'s english Voice Actress also played the role of Saber(good fit imho; sounded pretty much like the original just speaking english)
Emperor Charle's English Voice Actor also voiced Berserker (Due to the role only had to speak a few sentences, and only grunts and battle cries in Fate though)

Been catching up on several series.
Absolutely loved Sword Art Online, seemed to be liked by most people. Awesome concept. I'm a ways into SAOII, but I try to only watch it when I'll pay full attention due to the fact that there's no english dub for it yet. ( Only reason I'll watch dubs is so I can work on things in the background and not miss nearly as much as I would when subbed- )

Got sucked into Deadman Wonderland, seems the anime was never finished and likely won't be. It was okay, probably wouldn't recommend it unless you're into a really dark, rather gruesome setting / plot.

Finished FMA, another well received anime by most. Really enjoyed it. Working towards watching Brotherhood, but- I needed a break. ( Especially after realizing they couldn't have Al's voice from the original series ;~; )

Lazily watching Blue Exorcist at the moment. Seems pretty good so far, not to mention it's got one of the coolest intros I've heard in a while :D

If you liked the concept of SAO you'll probably enjoy Log Horizon a lot more, its like Call of Duty compared to ArmA III.
