Strengths: Skill at arms and leadership, he also has a good mind for study, and can claim to have read most books within the library of Thiil. He also has a steady hand and writes well. He knows well how to fight in armour and upon ships, with numerous weapons, and is in excellent health, although his age is starting to rest more heavily upon him. He is also a skilled horseman. His knowledge of woodcraft and hunting is also well established. Knows well how to tend to his equipment. He is also patient, and loyal to a fault. He can also fight proficiently with both hands. In recent times he has developed his hunting and survival skills even further, and now feels at home in the harsh lands of the tundra, being able to fend for himself. He is an able mountaineer, and has summited many peaks in the north. He has honed ability in fighting unnatural creates, and the fortitude to resist fear in the face of even the most heinous of monsters.
Weaknesses: In his prime, Axex was a peerless fighter, and his skill in this regard has not diminished, though age makes him slower, and more quick to tire, unleashed for a brief period, he is unbeatable. He fights smarter than he used to, but there's only so much that can do to even the odds against younger opponents. The loss of his right eye has led to a blind spot he will never truly correct. He is blunt and to the point, and this stands him in poor stead within the fields of politics and subterfuge. A good man, but perhaps not the most able ruler.

Born to a wealthy noble family, Axex lost his parents when he was very young. He was raised as a ward of the royal family to which his family had sworn fealty. Afforded the finest tuition available in all facets of the noble arts Axex proved a willing student and ensured the efforts of his tutors were well rewarded. His career in the armies of the Kingdom began first as a page, and soon a squire and then a knight. Having proved himself a keen fighter and able leader Axex fought numerous battles as the scion of House Hawklight. Soon however he became disillusioned with the games of politics, and took it upon himself to suppress his birthright and found an Order where men were judged not for their blood, but for their worth. Fighting Grief for countless years, his Order was eventually crushed in a heroic action which saw them enter a portal into enemies heartland in an effort to stop her for once and all.
It was years before they returned, broken, and defeated. Axex was a shell of himself, and it was years before he was once again whole. Forming a new brotherhood from the remnants of the old, he acted as its leader for many years and through successive wars with the great enemy. As his people were forced to flee into a new world he saw opportunity to rebuild the nobility as a mechanism for good, and he rekindled his heritage, once again raising the banner of the House Hawklight.
House Hawklight fought in a series of wars, culminating in the Game of Crowns which saw Draco Lonmar crowned King of Altera. His reign was brief however, and disillusioned with his successor Axex retired from public life, emerging years later to fight in the campaign which at last saw the great enemy defeated. Leading House Hawklight in person for the first time in many years he saw the Immortal Kings emerge for the final time.
Leading his House into a new world, he was eventually crowned a King, and currently rules as the Absent King, having found a home among the mountains of the north where he is rarely seen, except by those he considers friends, and those few who travel the same frozen shores.
