The Forlorn campaign has advanced from Phase One of the campaign, into Phase Two. This thread serves as a debriefing for everything that happened in Phase One that would be common knowledge now, as well as an update on where players exceeded as well as failed.

Cures
There are multiple somewhat effective cures, and a scarce few that are extremely effective. Only people who do not seek out an effective cure have been known to die of the disease, and there are the means available to even bring people back from the brink of death to the illness, in limited circumstances. The players can be considered to have succeeded in this avenue, and this will have repercussions on them in the phases to come.

Discovery
The players have learned very little that is nonobvious about what is going on around them, and in this vein can be considered to have failed. The little knowledge they have garnered about the illness and the strange effects it has on both people and animals is minimal, with those who know anything at all either keeping it to themselves or being incorrect. This will have ramifications on the phases to come.

A private matter
While there are some suspicions, the players can be considered to have failed along this dimension as well. This will have ramifications on phases to come as well.

Some strange monsters have been interacted with, either in the wild or seeming to actively seek out particular individuals for one reason or another...

Devourer
A strange monster that seems to have an over-large mouth, the size of which seeming to suggest it could devour small animals - or young children - whole. While one fore limb is made primarily of slimy tentacles, the other is a more human appendage, and it seems to be intelligent enough to use the appendage to manipulate objects.

The birds
Normal, alteran birds of unassuming appearance have been acting strangely. Perhaps a symptom of the illness in its avian hosts?

Passively, some things are impacting the larger ecosystem of Altera. Consider the following thread for your perusal [here]. Food is becoming a rarer commodity than it once was.

Alright, so. I take back my previous reply, the discoveries I was referring to are in fact not public. As for the strange beasts encountered... what about the odd bone-spear things we fought during the evacuation?
