He trudged forward.. One more step, he thought. The sun disappeared to his left. His bloodstained, short blade fell long before he reached the rocky mountain across the camp. Sand stuck up to his knees, as he kicked.. making it harder to walk. The ichor stained his tunic, black and red and blue. His body damp from sweat and fear. His throat grew too rough to swallow as his eyes squinted in pain to see where he could walk. He ran a palm against his body, brushing the sand away. He was surprisingly still whole- no scratch or bite upon him. But he shuddered.

One more step, he pushed. It was cold. He felt cold, then hot, then cold again. The fever was taking hold. His thoughts and memories swirled, unsure of where he wanted to go, what he would want to find, but he head northwest.. that was all he knew. To Kavdu. His family gone.. his friends gone.. He came with little purpose but to repay a debt. A last duty for the mortals that once rescued him. He had little to bring with him, and gave away his last craft to a half-furless.

The world was faltering, again. .. But there was no one left to mourn with.

A shadow passed above him. He didn't quite see it, for something else had already caught his eye. A boat.. in the middle of the desert. He chuckled to himself.. taking one more step. He would blink, and it was gone. Then blink again, and it re-appeared. But he knew it was there, surely. The ancestors guided him for one last sail. He reached it soon enough, time passing strangely. He faltered and fell to his knees, but gasped to steady himself. He crawled into the small fishing boat.. and leaned back, using an arm to support himself upon a sloppy sit. He'd sigh, then, chuckling up to the sky. He could sail to Kavdu. Be with his Yivdem.

He dreamed.. and closed his eyes.

Evdem.

Gill will fulfil Hazrins last request as he promised. He didn't know him for long, but he won't let him down.
