RELICS

"Not all of Skraag's souls are stolen. Even when they learn what the bitter truth of immortality is, many people still decide it is better that than to die."

Once made into a Vyre, at the discretion of the player they may over time come to know this information intrinsically. The hard exception is Ferals, which may not even know they are Vyres unless explicitly told.

[ IMMORTALIZATION ]
The process of becoming immortalized.

Any Vyre who meets certain criteria may apply to become a progenitor, and gain their own bloodline. This process is known as Immortalization. Immortalizing a Vyre is an entirely voluntary process on the part of the player and character, but once it’s been decided upon it cannot be undone. It permanently kills the character which has done it, such that their essence is spread among their progeny, and their remains become an ‘Immortal Relic’. If a character meets all of these criteria and wants to be Immortalized, then the player needs to submit an application to Lore and Events, and be explicit that this is their desire. The event will be a summoning of a Skraag angel, which will then Immortalize the Vyre, the process of the ‘ritual’ will be discussed on a case by case basis. Individuals who have done the 'Consecrate' process may have an easier time with Immortalization, but bring this up in your application.
The criteria for Immortalization are as follows:
-Have spread the curse to at least ten others. This doesn’t need to be direct: it can be that the wannabe progenitor sired one person who then sired nine; two who sired eight; directly sired ten - or any combination like that.
-Be an active player.
-Be Skraag blessed with a second rank or better.
-Be a Consumed Vyre at the time of Immortalization.
As an example;
[Progenitor of Example] - Alex, Daniel, Etc - All share the same bloodline as Example and are therefore Example Vyres. Should Daniel in the chain Immortalize himself, he must have at least five willing Vyres who are willing to convert, and thus the process splits them from the rest of the previous bloodline hierarchy to forge its own. This becomes its own bloodline, with all willing participants taking an even place below the progenitor regardless of their place prior, despite keeping their ranking.

[ IMMORTAL RELICS ]
The creation of a Relic that empowers the bloodlines left behind.

Immortal Relics are created upon the success of an Immortalization ceremony, the remains of the individual melt away and leave behind a unique black skull with something about it that denotes who it belonged to (etched symbols, features, etc). Each skull will provide a passive effect to those of the bloodline that was created from it within a radius of ten blocks, or confined to a location (such as the confines of a castle, manor, house, tomb, etc). It will also grant the used of an ability that can be used once per day by its holder. These things will all be agreed upon in the conversation about Immortalization.
These skulls can also, once per OOC month, be used in a summoning ritual to allow communication with the bloodline creator. The ritual varies but must include submerging it in a container of blood equivalent to the average human body in volume, in which the body of the progenitor regrows from the skull downward over the next OOC day. This process cannot be interrupted once begun. This 'blood' can be from NPCs.
Progenitors choose to answer the summons, and once their bodies are grown, they rise from the blood pool anew and will find they are confined to the building summoned within, unable to leave it, for 3 OOC days. They are also however, unable to die by any means, despite returning at the level of a Consumed. They will return to blood and the black skull when their time has elapsed. Progenitors are still capable of turning others into Vyres when in these 3 day periods.
They may then let the lore team know their proposed bloodline passive and ability, and the lore team will then take the suggestion and permanently engrave into lore the new bloodline which the progenitor’s remaining progeny will all be a part of. This must be done by re-infecting the entirety of the bloodline. Should there be an immortalisation ritual, it has a cooldown of three months before the next member of the chain can even attempt this.
AWAKENING || If you have not been 'summoned' in three OOC months, you will find yourself awoken in any Skraag shrine of your choice, and given one entire night of free reign. They can turn people in this state, and whilst they're immune to death by most mortal means, they will turn into dust if they are beheaded or staked. Their skull will reform (the relic) in the Skraag shrine they emerged from, resetting the timer for another three months or until summoned.

[ RELIC REPOSITORY ]
The official roster of all current Immortal Relics and their holders.

AZARIN BLOODLINE; Forged by Samael Azarin
The relic of the Azarin bloodline is the blackened skull of its founder, Samael Azarin. Upon its forehead is etched a compass rose that glows a faint green hue.
PASSIVE || Those of the Azarin bloodline are able to detect any living thing, or Vyre, within the confines of the Relic (such as a castle). They are able to send brief phrases to one another telepathically, with multiple uses prompting intense migraines. Anything said telepathically is known to the Progenitor.
ABILITY || Once per day, the holder may offer blood to the skull (which is absorbs) in order to send a message to any one member of the bloodline, regardless of distance. They may respond. Any messages shared, the progenitor will know.
HOLDER || Helena Azarin
GLUTTONY BLOODLINE; Forged by Melzar
The relic of the Melzar bloodline is the blackened skull of its founder, Melzar. It has ragged canine teeth, and horn-like protrusions from the forehead, more beastly in appearance than man.
PASSIVE || Those of the Gluttony bloodline are able to detect differences in individuals via a great sense of smell if they are within ten blocks of them, within the bounds of the confines (such as a castle). They can detect if someone is Blessed, Arcane, or Vyre - And if a Vyre, what Bloodline they're from. They can also detect pregnancies and sickness.
ABILITY || Once per day, the holder may use the Frenzy ability as if they were a Consumed Feral.
HOLDER || N/A
GREY BLOODLINES; Forged by Karn Clawheart
The relic of the Unendurable bloodline is the skull of the greyling with faint glowing green eye sockets of its founder, Karn. Its teeth are filed to a sharp point, even desiccated as they are.
PASSIVE || Those of the Enduring bloodline are able to survive their wounds when in the confines of the stationary Relic (such as a castle, or fort). By packing deep wounds with dirt, or other such detritus, it becomes as effective as staunching the wound from bloodloss as Mother's Embrace for up to ten minutes. The wound must still be tended to afterwards, and cannot be staunched again. They not suffer additional infections or general mundane illnesses.
ABILITY || Once per day, the holder may take the form of a rat for up to one hour. Over the course of one turn, their body twists and cracks into the shape of one with a vague resemblance to their normal selves such as identifying markings, as well as glowing green eyes reminiscent of the relic. Their body and clothing will transform, but not any gear, weapons, or armor, that they carry. It also takes one turn to return to their normal form.
HOLDER || Branko Callas
