As god of fools and laughter, Jax is not known for solemn oaths or stern worship, unlike others of the Pantheon. Where many would take offense, he finds amusement; when many fear crisis, he sees Opportunity. Though inclined towards amusement, he is likewise mercantile. All things related to percentages and profits, excess and escapades, are in his sphere of influence.
Intrinsically, the deity of Trade and Luck is popular among adventurers and merchants, often prayed to so the odds may be in their favour—be it in business, wagers, or voyages. The latter is of more importance, in recent years, for he quarreled with Visage over control of the Ocean… however the mantle was won by neither, instead being split into Tides and Sea Winds.
There are countless other instances of Jax’s ambition, however one has since become legend, attributing him to the vice of greed. In worlds past, all coin and wealth were ruled by both Jax and his brother, Bilworth, the god of Commerce. One often resented the other throughout their continuous rivalry, though rarely ever went beyond mockery. It all came to change, however, when Bilworth was weakened by Corruption. A chance so advantageous could not be ignored; Jax dared to strike down his own brethren, finally surpassing him. Bilworth all but faded to history. And yet, despite this treachery, Jax remains a favoured deity to commonalty and gentry alike.
