''-Maid, more champagne for me, please!''
''-Chevalier Lucius, how goes the Order's battles?''
''-Quite good indeed, Duc Thorius. We have recently made short work of one of our enemies...''
''-Bien! Our glorious plans work perfectly''
*Thorius turns to the other man*
''-Mon oncle, Lord Storm, have you got word of the guest for our soirée?''
''-Indeed, the Lords and Madames of the noble world rejoice, for we shall drink and feast tonight!''

The culture of the center realm:
House Lavoyard is a noble and highly civilized realm. Based strongly on a mix of old Arcturian customs and real-life French medieval tradition and culture, this recent House's culture could be called ''New Arcturian''. Furthermore, unlike Marr or the Engems, Lavoyard is the legitimate remnants of the Arcturian dynasty and legacy and the Lion Imperial Throne. Considered one of the epitomes of nobility and feudalism, the realm of Haven, home of the Lavoyards, is highly hierarchic and it's society revolves around the higher nobility's squabbles, wars and petty conflict between eachother. Often, the régimes risk peasant uprise due to unconsidered spending and noble fantasms. While the southern Engems wish to destroy all feudalism, the Lavoyards laugh at their barbaric ways from their quartz palaces and lavish feasts. The Lavoyards are indeed an old (due to the very old dynasty of Arcturus), intricate family with a love for diplomacy, politics, arts and plotting. Assassinations of Kings and lesser lords are very frequent, with food poisoning, betrayal and dueling as the favored Lavoyard ways of dealing with pesky rivals. Furthermore, the higher spheres of society are often considering lower levels such as normal citizens not worthy to be considered equal or given a chance, and they laugh at any concept of cooperation between the Nobility and the peasantry, rather considering that the second must serve the first. But, the nobles understand that their lower Lavoyard brethren are necessary and useful for la Société, so they mostly contribute in a way to help the general population, by giving money to charity organisations.
While the people and nobles of Haven indeed have a quite dark side, House Lavoyard however has several ways of redeeming itself. As a cultured and somewhat advanced society, the Lavoyards are pleased to pay and act as sponsors to artists, scientists, alchemists and men of faith. They often favor feasts and jousting tournaments over fields of battle, even if they still hold the old Arcturian war stratagems and smelting secrets to produce Arcturian Steel, that they uncovered from the ruins of Novus. Under the enlightened rule of Thorius du Lavoyard and his family, the middle frenchmen hope to expand, grow and, of course, enlarge their wealth and power, both in artworks and money. In their châteaux, flagships and palais, they hope to establish diplomatic ties with the other more advanced civilisations of the Northern Kingdoms.
The Lavoyarde, due to their roots, culture and alignment, are also prone to quite extreme religious behavior, and would gladly march on Crusades for the Sun, to vanquish heresy and apostacy, may it be necessary, or not...

Taxing politics of House Lavoyard:
Current tax rate: 100 radiants per day per house member. This will happen as long as you have more than 1000 radiants. It is made so the system doesn't take all of your gold.
Taxes are necessary, and really accurate RP-wise. Furthermore, all House should rightfully tax their population.
