Lavoyard Heritage and Political History

House Lavoyard is a proud and honorable culture that respects history and legacy. To be Lavoyard is to be noble and ambitious, cultured and respectful, and chivalrous. House Lavoyard is designed to provide twofold political RP, first in squabbles between its noble families, and second in achieving its ultimate goal, which is to create and maintain a stronger centralized crown. In House Lavoyard, things like patents of nobility, wealth, holdings, and war and diplomacy success matter. As such, all Lavoyards are taught the family's legendary heritage, which can directly traced back all the way to House Arcturus and the Golden Crusade.

Arcturian Legacy (written by @Valonyx)House Arcturus was started by Magnus Arcturus IV, who at the beginning founded the Golden Crusade, an holy order that sought to fight all corruption and evil that had a foothold on the realm of Altera. After leading several wars, defending the innocent, and maintaining their power on the lands, the crusaders successfully started an holy town where they could govern their demesne and their fortresses. With the cult of Kilrox, once strong, shattered and the powers of Grief vanishing, the holy crusaders found themselves with nowhere to go and no one to give their protection to. With their war ended, they decided to find a new goal. A more peaceful one, centered on economy and prosperity.

Lord Magnus then decided, along with a couple of old war friends, to join their riches and focus on building an House, Arcturus. The Lords of Might, once holy warriors, now rich lords in quest of power, were born.

Arcturus has seen many events and many times. It is one of the rare houses that can claim to have links with almost all of the others. At the time of the first Game of Crowns, Arcturus at first joined the Federation, a union of regions that was bent on putting Lord August on the silver throne. The federation however soon collapsed and Houses Arcturus and Arduin united to fight Lonmar for the Throne. Ultimately, Lonmar won that war, and Draco was named King of Altera. For the times while Draco was monarch, Arcturus focused on building and developing, even if It was greatly displeased with the King's regime.

Then, a while after, troubles came and changes happened in Port Silver. Harateth himself, God of Justice and Nobility, came from the Heavens and named a new ruler. A Queen, Leminth of Arduin, was named to the Silver throne. Arcturus was again going to abide, although displeased, to the Silver Crown once more. Shortly after her Majesty was named, rumors came of a new Exodus, a succession of events that would force most of Altera's population to once more change worlds. Arcturus, meanwhile, had its old homeland attacked by Queen Grief. Harlaus, the holy city, jewel of the desert, was corrupted, most buildings teared apart and towers taken down by Grief's tentacles of chaos. We were forced to rebuild. Bigger, Stronger, Better. This is why we build a mighty seat of power, Castle Stoneheight.

Lavoyard Legacy (written by Valonyx and Antilogy)
House Lavoyard is a House born of, unlike Marr or the Engems, the legitimate remnants of the Arcturian dynasty and legacy and the Lion Imperial Throne. Its culture revolves around old Arcturian customs mixed with medieval actual French culture and traditions. The Lavoyards are an old, intricate family with a love for diplomacy, politics, arts and plotting. Founded by the legitimate holder of the Lion Imperial throne, Thorius I Arcturus, now Thorius du Lavoyard, with the help of his uncle Storm Lavoyard (@CatalysTftw ) and Nwalme Fuvur (@blargtheawesome ), House Lavoyard was founded as the ''civilian'' counterpart of the Knight's Haven (as opposed to the Order) and seeks to reclaim what is rightfully ours.

Thorius led wisely, but eventually his son Barthelemy took his place as the Emperor. Barthelemy was a more cautious leader, often choosing diplomacy over battle, but he fell gravely sick and was unable to rule. His young wife, the inexperienced Charlotte du Makorath, was named Empress. She has twin children, one of which, Charles, is the future Emperor.

Charlotte, being naive and inexperienced, was not a popular choice. She stumbled oft in court and relies on her council more than she ought to. However, some might say she has had her successes. Part of Charlotte's work has been to separate Turia from Lavoyard, reaffirm the Turian Alliance between Marr and Lavoyard, add a new kingdom to the alliance, and commission the rebuild of Le Havre. Long Live Empress Charlotte, Dynast of Turia and Empress of Lavoyard.
