Aided by hired Guards, the Lek'zrink Mines sprout a new settlement for fresh resources in mining for the Capital of Kov'Gra'Sek. This location finds itself n the crook of the Ashlands corners and surrounded by a Bay of Obsidian and Ashen shards. Where once it was plagued by spiders and slaver bandits, it has since been cleansed of fire and webs. Now it begins its new foothold to become the leading resource in the Obsidian market.

Rays of orange and red sets on a small bay in the Ashlands of the Eastern Continents, reflecting against the blues, greys and purples of the landscape. After settling from a light storm of gravel and ash, a haze of grey hangs in the air. Workers wrap cloth around their heads, barely squinting to see through openings for their eyes. A few have rolled their sleeves and pants up to deal with the heat the land continues to give off. One of them begins to sweep the small path from the docks to the mines for the others to continue their work. Minimizing the effects of the Ashstorms have helped the crew work a bit better in their harsh conditions. The empty tavern creeks open and a Moorish woman in neatly pressed clothes offers the workers fresh sacks of water as they file away towards the mines. They tip their heads to her, in turn, each finding their places in the colder caverns soon enough.

A guard tower lingers near the tavern and mines, overlooking the houses and tents of the occupants of Lek’zrink. Here, a figure with a bow and quiver of arrows would sit to guard the place from potentially unknown, wild creatures. Someone had heard low grumbling in the distance one night.. And a hiss. Concerned, the guard was on high alert. The small lighthouse, a few streets away, was un-lit this morning. It’ll soon begin its round to guide the next supply ship of fresh water and food from Linlea once the evening ends. Lek’zrink was no nourishing land of fresh goods and any support given weekly would help the people get through their days as their Obsidian Mine began to take root.

Previously a barren land, Lek’zrink was once inhabitated by an un-identified slavery ring. Their markings carried a black flag with a blood-marked hand print. They had established a small fighting pit and mine to put their slaves to work and sustain their business. By selling and putting people to work, they were able to discreetly grow and expand. This slavery ring was uncovered by a mishap when one of their miners uncovered a spider cave deep beneath them. Once the Giant Spider swarm took over the Slavers Pit, they left a trail of their ruination as they fled to attack Linlea’s walls nearby. Discovered, a group of warriors, healers and well intentioned explorers tracked the web-trail and uncovered the Slaver Mines. There, they purged the cave of spiders once and for all and put the deceased to rest.

Landscape/Climate

Sunny with the occasional Ashstorm. Ashstorms occur when the nearest Volcano erupts a dust cloud when the wind faces towards Lek’zrink. The dust and ashen clouds rain down towards the small mining village, forcing many to close up for a few days and wait it out. The Ashstorms prelude through a heavy rumble of earthshakes to the west, and so the guard has an easier time blowing a horn to warn the miners and people to head out, gather their resources and stay down for a few days.

The land around Lek’zrink is filled with Obsidian. Due to its mass amounts, the area fluctuates with the negative magical effects that come with it. Passives remain active. Any magical spell cast within:

>The villages to docks carry a -1 modifier
>By the outskirts of the small mine village, carry a -3 modifier
>Inside the mines and in the Ashlands carry a -5 modifier
{Obsidian Rules}

Flora & Fauna
Dead bushes and strange tree barks linger around the landscape. The sounds of creatures, not yet identified by the settlers, can be heard on the occasional night. Spiders were once these land’s original settlers, but they have since been purged. The people still prepare for crawlers to strike from other caves yet unexplored.

+Production slows on occasions. The focus of the people seems to be elsewhere due to the threats from outsiders.

The region's builds still exist, but the region itself is removed. I'm a-ok with people still using this mining village as their backstory for characters. It still counts as inside Linlea's ooc region borders.
