The Republic of Peoples Republic of Aislaend is a fledgling, safe nation, notable for its compulsory military service, irreverence towards religion, and suspicion of poets. The hard-nosed, cynical population of 6 million Peoples Republics of Aislaendian are ruled by a mostly-benevolent dictator, who grants the populace the freedom to live their own lives but watches carefully for anyone to slip up.

The medium-sized, well-organized government juggles the competing demands of Defense, Welfare, and Education. The average income tax rate is 35.9%, but much higher for the wealthy.

The Peoples Republic of Aislaendian economy, worth 282 billion Krónas a year, is broadly diversified and led by the Beef-Based Agriculture industry, with major contributions from Retail, Basket Weaving, and Cheese Exports. Black market activity is notable. State-owned companies are reasonably common. Average income is 47,080 Krónas, and evenly distributed, with the richest citizens earning only 2.4 times as much as the poorest.

The government snoops on private internet connections, pro-democracy regime change has been avoided, female newsreaders distract the nation by breastfeeding during broadcast, and all guns must be registered. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a capable police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Peoples Republic of Aislaend's national animal is the Bear.
