New Player Questions

#21
Oh gosh I just found the cross-breeding thread, I'm so sorry. Oof. Thanks for the info. In that case, I'm more interested in playing a pureblood caparii anyway, but I have a follow-up question: is there any lore basis for minor mutations in horns (i.e. they have deer-like/pronged antlers)?

Here's a mock-up I made in a super-hero MMO - hence the modern skyline background - of the character I'll be applying with, using the only antler model the game has. I'll be down-sizing them in his art to be only a few inches taller than his hair and have three prongs. If needed I can totally doodle up my own mock-up with a more accurate set of antlers, because I know this looks ridiculous, but it'll have to wait until I get over this stomach bug. >_<

Beyond that, I see that the Sorrows is a PVP free-for-all for gathering resources, but where can one build their own little farm, traveling only to the city to socialize, sell their wares, and purchase goods? Is there a specific server/area for "free-building" and would there be actual cities nearby, or is it all just free-builds?

As far as I'm aware they only have the usual goat/ram like curling horns, not deer like.

The main map does not contain free building, but you can also use the Frontier to claim a small portion and build there. I cannot guarantee there would be cities or towns nearby as those are usually reserved for the main role playing map. Perhaps you could speak to a region owner to let you create a small lodge near their town, as it could be difficult for a new player to gather enough radiants to make a region. (A total of 100k is needed)

50k for the ability to purchase a region, 50k for first plot in a region. Additional plots in that region is considerably less. I want to say around 1-3k.
Best thing to do when starting is to join a group and then rp will naturally progress from there. You can get good RP also just trying to find which city you want to start out in also.

The map is also very over saturated with unpopulated or single person regions at the moment.

The best course of action then, it seems, would be to seek out a region owner to see if I could build a small farm adjacent to their town. Anywhere that my character's not gonna get a sword to the face for just going about his business. I like tundra and forest biomes best for him. It;s difficult to gauge, as a newbie, who's actually active just by going off of forum postings. Do you guys have any recommendations?

Active northern regions include Thorne, Haven, Oren, Queensport, and Halbed, to my knowledge.

Owner of Thorne is Archbishop, Haven is BoredBrit, Oren is Arken, Queensport Elz, and Halbed Cymic_.

Astrakhan is currently rather active. We're located in the south in the center of the massive forest~

We would love to have you in our region!

excuse me. I'm having trouble. I added the server but it wont let me enter because its out of date.
You need to be on 1.12 to play on our server. Since the 1.13 update, your client may have automatically updated to 1.13

Going through the forums is difficult for me and I was wondering if there were a pdf or some other type of file to help me read up on the lore rules ect. If not it's fine but it would really help. Thanks!

There is not, but if you'd like, I can create a Google document of our pages for lore and rules for you to download if you are having troubles with spotty connectivity or anything like that.

Is there something in particular you are wanting to know but can't find? Most things are in the sub forums or the New Player Guides.
The issue I'm having is it's hard to read through multiple forum posts due to my unstable internet connection. I am particularly looking for general rules on the server/forums the public lore book helps my other need.

You can download a folder of stuff [here] that I pasted in. Mind, some of it may contain links to numerous other threads that are far too many to add to the folder. Hope this helps.
