Pax Machina: Vorar's Peace

Baron

Sovereign
Retired Staff
The Pax Machina is Vorar's first and oldest law. It quite simply states that intentional harmful conflict is forbidden within the spheres of Vorar's territories, and that violation of the Peace will be met with dire consequences. The rule of the Peace extends from the simplest of physical attacks to the clashing of entire armies. Further, one may not be removed from the regions without their willing consent by a third party without violating the Peace. Of course, refugees and visitors can come and go freely, but are only protected when within the borders.

In the spirit of its neutrality in politics, Vorar allows peoples of all creeds within its borders at any time, even if they're political refugees fleeing from a greater power. This protection is Vorar's expression of guest-right, another ancient codification, and has no time duration. Because Vorar enforces the Peace within its borders, even the worst of enemies or the most persecuted of groups can find refuge and engage in diplomacy within the borders knowing that conflict will be met with unyielding retribution.

OOC: Vorar's regions are Moderate, so you can do what you want within consent rules, but so can Vorar, and harming someone within Vorar's borders without their IC permission is consent to Vorar taking action against you (the form of punishment greatly varying depending on what most fits the situation).

Th0ugh some may consider it unfair that chilling in one of Vorar's zones is a seeming Get Out Of Jail Free card, the treatment applies equally to everybody on both sides, and they're only safe for exactly as long as they're within the borders. See them anywhere else (even if it's one step outside the border) and they're free game. Vorar's Peace is more of a Get Into Protective Custody Free card.
