Powergaming is forcing your characters actions on another person without allowing them a proper reaction. Metagaming is using information you learned out of character while in character.

I'm known on minecraft RP most commonly as Aliard or Licorish - I have been rping since I was like 11. I first started doing alt-history roleplays and have played several servers, many of them as nation leaders of both successful and unsuccessful nations. I love to play overwatch, destiny, Europa universalis 4, Crusader Kings 2, Stellaris, and other fun strategy or FPS games. I'm 17 and a Floridian. I'm a band geek, capable of playing all saxophones and also starred as a member of my HS color guard/drill team.

An announcer approached the podium, beginning to recite words off of his long scroll in the middle of the Astrakhan market place
It is on this date in the warmth of Jax that we announce the acquisition of all current lands within the Astrakhan. These lands have been acquired in their entirety and are now under the jurisdiction of a Sooleran man under the name of ‘Erasto’. The House of Herenni is and remains a wealthy house of course - however, it neglected the Astrakhan state’s economic poverty that for years went uncontrolled, causing it’s denizens to curse them. This unrest eventually grew into active protest, going unheard by both the world and the Leader - only causing them to delve deeper into poverty, with all of it’s merchants and workers migrating elsewhere. Before these peaceful protests evolved into something greater - they fell under a new leader, who was far from an Herenni. With the riches he had apparently hoarded since the days of yore, he was able to bail out the House of Herenni and gain control of the state within the span of one year. Although this deal took a year to cement, the man Erasto became popular overnight. The tension between the two entities seem little to none, with Theodosius blessing the new leader before he departed. The intricacy of this deal is unknown to all, though it definitely signals a new era for Astrakhan . Erasto, the new leader of this foreign land, stepped along the marketplaces podium with a grin upon his visage, he spoke to the people of his new city :
“Citizens of Astrakhan, since I’ve arrived you’ve shown me nothing short of hospitality - and I return this hospitality the greatest way I can, by returning prosperity to this grand land. The House of Herenni is a grand house, but every house has its sins - those are what make them memorable houses, their sins and how they mend them. The sin the House of Herenni was that of neglect, it is easy to overlook the struggles of everyday people - however, it is not wise. These are the people that make a nation a nation, and on this day I vow never to commit the same sin.”
With this, Erasto bowed - a leader bowing to the people. As he rose, a smile was still upon his visage, and he turned dramatically to walk off. Sadly, before he was able to walk away and cement this reign, he began to awake a frown being formed upon his features as he realized that it was all a dream, and he was still a homeless man.
Current Setting of the Server:
The lands of Altera have long been laced with upheaval, supernatural turmoil that would threaten to shatter the realm or tear it asunder. Long, have the peoples of Altera withstood these tribulations, overcoming and persevering through the generations. Only too recently, the realm tangled with the Behemoth Qlippoth, awakened by monsoon rains and with which came the Ashen Blight plague and eldritch abominations. Though the days were dark and long, the realm did survive, through its tenacity and reverence. The memories of the trials behind them still fresh, the realm sits in a state of unease and angst . . . with eyes on the horizon.
In the skies above, the heavens fall and burn across the auburn colors of the setting sun, streaks of color in the gathering dark. The Realm of Altera awaits . . .

About Your Character!
This section is about the character you intend to use once you join the server.We ask that new players follow these guidelines during this portion of the application:
- Characters begin with basic skills and gear. No advanced armor or weaponry. Skills and abilities are appropriate to a novice level. Skills should be learned through roleplay, not through backstory.
- Characters fit the lore. If you choose to play as a Moor Elf, for example, we expect appearance and details to be fitting with base lore.
- Characters cannot use magic in any way. The test itself should not mention magic either. HollowWorld uses a restricted magic system and it is only accessible to those who find and learn from a teacher in-game.
- Tests should not be violent. No murder, killing, death, torture. In the past, 8 out of 10 applications featured characters fighting off bandits or slaying passersby. We don't want to see how well you can script a fight scene. We want to see how well you can tell a story, how well you can roleplay.
- Be creative and be original. Do not use tests/characters whose home villages were burned, parents murdered, and then set off to be an orphan assassin. It has been done before. Please don't do it again.
- Written portion of the test is required to be a 400 word minimum. If the test doesn't meet the minimum, Staff may ask you to extend the test before the application is considered.
