I collapse into the mud, struggling to catch my own breath. The rain comes down around me heavily. I can’t hear shit but the crashing of water. Heaving, I stand slowly, my breath leaving me in cold, white tendrils. I squint, trying to look past the rain. The vague shape of my instructor is a shadowed void in the downpour, the water breaking on his shoulders.

“Gaah!” I yell as his sword nicks me in the eye, splitting open my brow.

Falling to my knees again, I clutch the mud with my hands. Warm blood washes over the left of my face, dribbling off my chin in red rivulets, diluted by rain. The vision in my left eye is a haze, and it sears with torment. My instructor lumbers up to me, his face stretched into a grin. “You fucking pathetic cunt!” he barks. He whacks the flat of his heavy blade against my temple. My vision darkens.

“Do you call yourself a bloody swordsman? A warrior?” Another whack on the other temple. “Answer me, you cur!” He readies his hand to strike.
“Y-yes,” I barely manage to sputter. It was pathetic.
From the look on his face, he seems to be amused by my response. “Oh, do you now?” He slams his fist into my cheek. My head whips back as I fall, a spray of mud slobbering all over me. My face eats the ground. Only managing a few chest chokes, I don’t move. I can barely hear the sloshing of my instructor’s footsteps approaching. Moaning, I muster a tremendous effort to lift my eyes, which weigh themselves down like anchors. I manage, somehow. I can see the twisted smirk on his face.
“Some warrior,” he scoffs. Laughing at his own remark, he drives his boot into my ribcage. The pain ripples through my torso like a dropped boulder in a pond. But a groan is all I manage.

“Are you going to lay there and take it like a bitch?” he yells, with another kick. “Answer, you scum!”

He puts more effort into this one: his arms flail and he slides on one foot as he kicks again. His one leg poised to strike, I grab the ankle of his supporting one and pull. He falls like a brick. As quickly as my battered body can manage, I pin him down. My ribcage, my vision, my fucking face all protest my maneuver. But I don’t give a shit. I can see it: the flicker of fear on his countenance as he tries to maintain his dignity, still stern. He’s probably reaching for his sword right now. I launch my fist straight at his cheekbone. I lift the other one, and bash the opposite side.

“Sto-.” A punch right into his teeth cuts him short. I let him gurgle futilely on a mixture of his own teeth and blood before continuing.
“Fucking-” I punch him on the nose.
“Pathetic-” I punch him on the brow.

“Cunt!” I bury the last blow in his temple.

Panting for air, my wounds begin to throb again, reminding me of their presence. My knuckles are sliced from punching his teeth, and bruises turn it red and black from hitting everything else. A gash that starts above my brow goes through my eye and ends on my cheekbone, stinging as sweat creeps into it. Slowly, I slide off of his unconscious body and flop into the mud. My ribs would have it no other way; they feel broken. I lay there, sinking into the earth’s embrace. To test my eye, I half-blink. It still burns, but I can see through it regardless. I gaze at the chaotic skies above, darkened and swirled by storm clouds that loom ominously, plunging everything into gray. Their actions are swift, flaunting with it the unfathomable might of heavens beyond. The pelting of rain in my good eye stops me from staring upwards any longer. I am left to observing the boring plains that support my pitiful form, laying there in the mud. It is different to the skies, down here on mortal grounds. Particularly here. A mind numbing flatness that seems to stretch towards the bounds of eternity, plainly set forth before me. At least in the direction that I can see. My fucking neck hurts too much for me to move my head and look the other way. I know that somewhere behind me, behind the curtain of rain, a solitary stone path jaggedly breaks the dull uniformity of the land, flanked by groups of other instructors inflicting their wrath on poor bastards like me. They send us here to break us, to be broken. I don’t know if I’m broken yet. But I damn well fucking hurt.

How did this come to be? Was he created before there was lore on humans or something else?

Whoa there, cowboy. To answer your question, I made Rex when I joined the server, but a much more toned down version. I messaged staff if I could make the version of him that he is now. They said "ok", and the rest is history.

I am asking him how he got legacy for Rex specifically as that might be the case, airhead.

I know this probably isn't the place to take it up as this is a Players profile page and I doubt he wants this on it but doesn't Cymic have a beard and is tanned like a human when he's a silver elf? Won't mind taking this to Dm and if FrostGuardian wants I can delete this post

Elves can have facial hair on hollowworld, though.

Why are you bringing Cymic into this? I am purely asking how the character achieved legacy, i.e being created pre-lore or perhaps being related to a giant.

It was clear that he was legacy, i was just curious is all. I'm, aware he is an old character, i do not care that he is that tall or heavy, i just wanted to know how he achieved legacy and if it because of a pre-lore thing or hereditary, for example.
