Shalherana ( pronounced SHAL-HER-AHNA ) is the First and Last, the Lifebringer, the Allmother. She is the goddess of Nature and Growth, risen from the primordial forces to create all that mortals and animals walk upon, caring for their birth and blooming. In her realm, every need was seen to, so that her cherished creations may thrive in eternal tranquility. As other gods and beings came to prominence, however, ill fates befell her children—some were lost to malady, others to violence, and thus her perfect world had been defiled. To remedy the wrongdoings of others, and to grant chances at redemption, she and her Sisterhood were said to resurrect the fallen and offer Healing to all that came to them. Most thanked her for it, but many objected to forgiveness being given so freely, as even the vilest criminals were brought back to life—and often used the opportunity to inflict more harm.

Eons passed, the cycle of Life and Death and revival continuing with only occasional interference, until Jishrim and his mortal servants profaned her Archangel of Life. An affront so unprecedented left Shalherana enraged, and changed forever—she no longer disregarded sinful pasts, instead taking up the mantle of Vengeance to protect her creations from such appalling suffering again. Though many followers adjusted to this change, others remained immovable pacifists, for better or for worse.

Adulterated, bastardized, imprisoned, the Archangel of Life was held in Jishrim's divine court, for him to do as he likes—creating abominations and sadistically toying with the resurrected. Mortalkind and divine alike sought to change and place Life in her rightful place, and with perseverance they succeeded. Though Shalherana accepted her with open arms, Vengeance was there to stay alongside her.

TENETS
» Thou shalt show favor to new mothers, in memory of what once was, and aid the new life of this world to guide them away from the dark.
» Thou shalt stay their hand against those who have not given cause to harm, for to give injury to the defenseless is the height of blasphemy. Thou shalt also not allow to come to harm any living beast, as they are mindless and oblivious to their sins.
» Thou shalt care for thine nude self, in temperance and in readiness, to always be prepared to settle a score should it arise.
» Thou shalt care for their home and all the life therein, for one must always be prepared to lay down their arms once their duty is done.
» Thou shalt worship as much in action as prayer, and settle all grudges which arise in one’s community and personally.
» Thou shalt record all grudges issued against their personage or community, and share the book amongst one’s faithful, so that all who deserve vengeance shall not be forgotten.
» Thou shall record the first grudge as thus: “Jishrim and all who pay him homage in any manner or form, for stealing Life from mortalkind.”
» Thou shalt care and provide for all those in thine community and beyond who pursue the righting of grudges.
» Thou shalt prune and water thine plants in need of nourishment just as thou wouldst feed and care for thine ailing sisters, or travelers in thine grove.
