History
Storm’s Landing began as the major landing for those not associated with one of the greater houses or kingdoms of the Northern Kingdoms. Baron Crawford brought over as many as he could on his ships and set up the tent city which eventually grew into the first version of Storm’s Landing. Many features of this first version still persist around the slums and dock ward, a testament to the builders who made them. Their names still upon several streets and alleyways.

This first version of Storm’s Landing saw a great many horrors. A massacre was within its very walls, before the doorstep of the tavern itself. The blood stained the cobblestone for many months, but it was not the end of ill fortune that first version of the city would see. Not long after, a massive kraken came from the sea and ruined the city and its docks. Many would lose their lives and see loved ones go missing. What had once been a home and beloved meeting place, fell to ruin in the span of a single day.

Despite the hardships thus incurred upon the citizens of Storm’s Landing, they continued. The Baron rallied the people, and a new city was built from the ashes of the old. It rose, and the city grew more than it had before. Over the coming years, the city expanded, growing farms, a shipyard, and an area for nobility.

The city has seen some blessings, with a portal made by the gods appearing. According to rumor, the archway in the cathedral is that very portal. Soon after the portal was moved, rumors swirled about the love of this place that the gods possessed.

Gangs and tragedies still strike every so often, for a brief period a gang terrorized the city, and brought opium and other contraband into the walls. Death and poverty was struck from this, as many were afflicted with addiction.

During the Blight, death and sickness ran the streets. The slums went up in flames and caused many to lose their homes. The entire continent suffered, and for a while, the city was a ghost town. Eventually life returned and has begun to flourish again.

When the great yellow comet loomed in the sky, a woman was killed by the first of the falling stones to hit the ground. Storm’s Landing was the first place these meteorites had fallen.

For now, all seems at peace. That peace can be broken at any moment though, by anything which has an effect on this world.

The ruling family
Storm’s Landing was once held by the enigmatic Baron Crawford. He was very rarely seen in public, but had numerous aides and clerks to attend and act on his word. He most often seemed to do his work through courier, and this was reputed to be the best way to reach him.

Little is known of his background and he is unmarried as well as childless.

As of late, the Baron Crawford has gone missing. In his absence a local government of elected officials are performing his various duties.
