Baroness Southgate is announcing the war's end.
Years ago, King Rogerius swindled the family fortune from her father. He died a weak and broken man, cheated by his supposed ally. Baroness Southgate could not allow this injustice to stand and so, she waged a war against King Rogerius and his criminal syndicate. Alas, she has won a decisive victory by not only capturing the vyre-king, but also seizing his city of Veraci and crushing his syndicate.
However, Baroness Southgate is not a tyrant thirsty for power, unlike her captured counterpart. She, and her troops, will leave Veraci now that the criminal syndicate has been culled. This is not a defeat nor a sign of weakness. Baroness Southgate is acting justly and not becoming a bloody conqueror.
Any prisoners taken will now be released and their possessions returned when the time is right. Veraci will be left to govern itself and hostilities will cease.
King Rogerius and his old regime has been proven to be grossly inadequate. They committed crimes and failed to protect themselves. Will Veraci entrust their future to the remnants of these incompetent imbeciles? Or will they look for a new leader?
