Totally worth watching. Sometimes I think the same guys that made kill la kill did this series lol.
To my great surprise the anime also seems to have an anime-orginal character that it promotes a bit too much for her to be not a part of a major plottwist.

Also in the world of anime this season, we have Arslan Senki!
After five episodes (they air Sunday morning EST, oddly), I am more hyped for Arslan Senki each week than Fate/Stay-Night. Arslan Senki is just a fantastic "historical" genre anime about Parthia vs Rome with a wealth of story.
I highly recommend that anyone who liked Fate/Zero, Legend of the Galactic Heroes, or Kingdom take a look into Arslan Senki! I cannot recommend it enough!
I wouldn't know. I haven't been keeping up with Fate/Stay Night because I just got bored of it. I mainly only started to watch it for the fight scenes but they were meh to me, so I lost interest since I already knew the story more than I care to admit.
If he kills Archer I'm going to be so pissed. I thought this was a nice, unique anime. Turns into generic "weak MC has to defeat tough opponent, MC suddenly OP".
Archer could have just killed him, easy peasy, but instead he just can't get it over with because that would be too easy and the pathetic twerp would live. Damnit.

Archer's plan is to not only break the man but also his spirit in the hopes of erasing the Counter-Guardian EMIYA (Aka Shirou's future) from ever coming to be.
Also since its not going to get explained:
That place where he turned into a Counter Guardian is a Nuclear Power plant that went havoc.
Curiously enough this has always been the back story behind Archer, even before Fukushima happened.
Being there is also the reason Archer has a darker complexion while Shirou hasn't. - Basically charred skin.

Sooner or later (more) allied ships will get added to the game too. Probably during one of these impossibly hard events...
Also to break up an old rumor in advance the Abyssals are not the allied ships. In fact, the Abyssals attacking happens all over the world from the story. Plus the US didn't have torpedo cruisers

Just so you guys no, originally this was an USK 18 scene.
But wow... this was still surprisingly tame compared to the Mana scene changes in Fate/stay night.
Anyway, in the VN she basically made him something similar to a servant, a few levels lower but still a familiar.
Afterwards he could access her entire mana pool.
Checking what they said about the anime version vs what actually happened btw:
She only transplanted the part of the crest she wrote herself, not the entire thing.
Well there is still Shoukugeki, Owari no Seraph and Kekkai Sensen and Plastic Memories to watch .
Although, half of them are already towards their end.

Last episode was just so ridiculous. So many things just happened for no explained reason. Whenever he does anything OP, he just monologues some cop out reason as to why he can suddenly do it.

As for archer that was established a while ago.
Its easier to understand when you have played the game where you can constantly check the servant stats.
The Archer Class has an ability named 'Independence' basically allowing them to survive without Mana flow from a master or even go against their will to some extend.
Gilgamesh has that ability on a pretty high rank so he can act completely independent of a master, given that he has enough Mana.
part of the Reason Gilga can do it is that he actually kinda had a master (See Fate/Zero) and was doused with the grails contents.
Note that to fully understand some things you need to have seen the different routes of Fate.
A servan'ts strength is also tied to their Master's abilities:
Example: Saber's base stats (there are other non effected stats too, which are generally rather high for the saber class)
Kiritsugu's Saber:
Str: B
Mana: A
End: A
Luck: D
Agility: A
NPhantasmn: A++
Shirou's Saber:
Str: B
Mana: B
End: C
Luck: B
Agility: C
NPhantasmn: C
Rin's Saber:
Str: A
Mana: A
End: B
Luck: A+
Agility: B
NPhantasmn: A++
Now, the one thing that is the same for every fate Story is that Saber takes a hit from lancer.
That hit should have actually pierced her heart, killing her with one strike.
Her B Rank luck however was enough to change fate, if her Master was Kiritsugu Gae Bolg would have actually pierced her heart.
In the /Stay Night route one of the Bad ends has Shirou ordering Saber to unleash her Noble Phantasm against Berserker. however due to her C stat, its not enough to kill him/even wound him.
Thus BErserker breaks through and kills Saber and Shirou

I was referring to Shirou being stupidly OP due to what seemed like willpower alone. After the long battle with Gilgamesh, which he probably should have lost (weird how all of the swords that Gilgamesh fires, Shirou only knocks away about 4, the rest had Stormtroopers aiming them I guess), he then finds strength from nowhere to fight against Gilgamesh's hook thingy.
