Referral: HoboVigilante ________________________________________ {Character Section} Character Name: Reyne of Ashfalle Age: 30 Race: Human (Anhalder) Appearance: In recent years, the Anhalder has shifted in appearance from a lowborn knight to something more befitting of a Prinz of Ashfalle. He can often be found with the colors of Conrad proudly displayed on a worn gambeson or rather luxurious furs and leather hunting attire. His head is a healthy tangle of sandy brown and he will generally have dark stubble lining his jaw. A rather distinctive tattoo is etched in black along his throat and neck, resembling fearsome talons clutching the insignia of his order. Since childhood, Reyne has had a piercing gaze of hazel that evokes his inquisitive nature. (Optional) Picture of the Skin: Attach on the thread Written Test (Min: 400 words): The Prinz of Ashfalle rarely knew the embrace of peaceful sleep. One stormy night, the man was stirred by the clap of thunder ringing across the Isles. He draped a heavy cloak over his shoulders and set out for the walls of Lowefalk. Years of supping on ceremonial vice had inspired the Prinz to peer into the great storm that beset his isles. He shut his eyes and envisioned a time where he knew no home. Boys struggling to start a fire in an abandoned place of worship, drinking themselves silly, and the nightmarish horror that drew them all closer together. Lightning struck far off beyond Meermotte, guiding Reyne's mind to Wilhelm's warm hearth, the conversations shared between the two over a smoking vice rolled in tobacco, the ranges over Drachenhort. For a moment, he was back at the siege, the crack of cannons, the ruined cobbles of home, and the sinking ships in the bay. The Prinz opened his eyes once more to watch a streak of lightning tear down from the sky and strike the peaks of Bear Isle. The wind and rain cut through him as he was transported to Meermotte's yard, pressing the skull of a brother to his own. Next, he was boasting of hunts in Richard's longhouse over copious mugs of drink. Finally, he was brought back to the deck of a burning ship, the sharp sting of the captain's rapier fresh on his face. Another claw of lightning followed by a clap of thunder awoke Reyne from his memories. The light blinded him momentarily. As his vision returned to him, amid the darkness the man felt as though he could see a fire off in the distance. The realization had struck him like a dagger to the heart. It had been some time since the flames climbed up the side of Bear Isle's peaks. The longhouse was dark, no light twinkled in its now charred hull. In the distance, the Prinz could hear the distinct cry of the Gryphon. It was a sound that filled him with melancholy, for it also conjured memories of the past. He could not tell where the beast soared but heard the beat of its massive wings as it danced in the stormy night sky. Distant lightning lit up the sky behind the clouds, creating an ethereal backdrop where the slightest silhouette could be spotted. Drachenhort's guardian was back on the hunt, Ashfalle's Prinz took this as a sign to return to his own. |
