Good
These are all terrible but here we go
Breath
The most precious thing on this earth,
Is not gold, nor silver, nor coal,
Not diamond or ruby,
It is the most mundane yet beautiful things possible.
As you read this you breathe.
One breath in, another out.
Breath is the most efficient clock,
The one thing guaranteed to kill us.
The breath you waste in anger is one you won’t have in happiness,
To breathe is to move, to breathe is to live,
To breathe is to love.
Use your breaths on things you love,
Spend them with those close to you,
You will never regret them this way,
You will regret those used foolishly
The breaths you waste reading this will never be had again,
You are a handful closer to death and yet,
You are here, you are alive and you are stronger than you possibly think,
To breathe is to live and life is beautiful
Silence
There is darkness,
The stars are dead and the universe is silent,
There is no life remaining,
Just memories and dreams of a thousand thousand civilisations,
If there was a god, then he too is dead,
For thousands of years there has been silence.
And then, it all comes together,
Into the smallest clump possible for one second and then,
In a burst that would blind every angel in the havens,
It explodes and expands,
The silence is broken and once more,
The cycle begins anew
Stars
I strode through the dark,
Alone, silent save for the wind in the grass,
No light to lead the way and yet,
Content, knowing no differ.
Later, the stars came out,
The havens filled with light-struck gems,
Blue and gold and violet,
All precious, bright and beautiful.
A larger orb appeared,
A giant’s pale eye looking down,
Lighting the way in pale, white light.
The stars and moon dimmed,
Dark returned but I was not disheartened,
The beauty would return in time,
I just needed patience
(Next one is dark)
Untitled
Father father,
My wrists are bleeding,
Father father,
There’s a noose on the stairs
Father father,
Am I damned?
You made me this way,
Is this your will?
Father father,
Help me I’m alone
Father father,
There’s no one here,
Father father,
I don’t want to die
Why don’t you answer, are you there?
Or like the rest, do you even care?
Father father,
I don’t want to be like this,
Father father,
I want to be happy,
Father father,
Do you hate me this much?
I’m going to die alone.
Father father,
This is goodbye
Amen.
