Notes: This is still a heavy work in progress, and don't mind any mistakes I have made in the thread.

The Guardians of Knowledge is a grandeur circle of scholars. This is not your ordinary scholar group; We seek to learn and master things that others have not, to bend the unknown to our wills, and to protect Altera and it's good people from harmful unknown forces. What we desire is to discover the unfathomable truths of all existence, and unlock abstruse and arcane secrets and mysteries that have been hidden away from the greedy, and prying mortal eyes and minds for centuries. Perhaps even ones mortals were never meant to know. The wardens choose with a delicate judgement of who they bring into the group, and it takes effort and work to prove one's worthiness.
The Circle believes that they can protect Altera from harm inflicted by the unknown. The more they find and figure out, the more they can understand these unknown forces to mankind, and bend it to their will as well as share knowledge with others. Prolonged Life is also closely studied within the Circle, they believe that this can be achieved without the help of Skraag and his grotesque, curse of undeath. As a respect to the Lady Grey, they still believe that all things have an ending to them. And once prolonged life is achieved, they can live throughout much of history, gaining predominant erudition through time, carrying on guiding and protecting Altera from the harm of unknown forces, and to pass pure knowledge on to future generations.
Race, gender, etc. is not discriminated upon within the circle, and all are welcome to join the ranks as long as they hold a certain maturity, respect, ethical behavior, and a sense of intellect. You will be able to join once you prove your worth. The Warden Guardians are closely meticulous in initiating individuals into the circle, and there will be absolutely no bribes taken.
Tenets of the Circle
- You shall respect the worth of words.
- Seek out the unknown, and bend it to your will.
- Protect the Circle and it's members with your life.
- You shall gather all knowledge you can possibly grasp to reach, and make great efforts to reach even further into the heights of wisdom.
- Do not meddle with forces you cannot control.
- Members of the circle who commit betrayal will face rightful judgement under the Wardens.
- Observing of the Divine Law. Heresy is a crime.
- As a neutral guild, politics are not to be intermingled with the Guardians unless in a time of perilous need.
- Once a guardian, always a guardian. Bound by an oath unless breached.
The alphabet is used in the circle’s manuscripts, to conceal the secrets of the group through writings. Strictly forbidden to share to outsiders. The alphabet sort of resembles lesser constellations, hence the saying something is “Written in the Stars.” Fully initiated members are required to learn and master this syllabary.
Aspirations and Objectives
Short Term/Ongoing:
- Establishing a main embassy.
- Acquiring armor, robes, and weapons
- Recruitment
- Acquiring a ship
- Prolonged Life through magical, divine, or alchemical means. In order to live throughout history and gain everlasting wisdom throughout the years.
- Access and communication to & with the Planar Infinity
- Bending the unknown to the Circle's will. Guarding Altera from harm.

The Wardens: The senate of leaders in the circle. Their word is law within the circle, and is to be given respect. They are the ones whom recruits members, the ones that hold final judgement upon those who betray the guardians, and the ones that chooses the next individual that shall take their place after death.

Tome Guardians: The guardians of scribe work and maintaining the secrets of the circle. These are the guardians that do most of the studies within it's establishments, and can also be alchemists, cartographers, etc. Anything of use. The Tome Guardians are the keepers of knowledge within the circle, and not all of them are capable of combat.

Sword Guardians: The guardians that are most capable of combat, and aids in guarding circle members. Also trained to fight unknown forces, and frequently study on ways to cease these things from harming mortals. These members are not restricted to using physical weapons- as they can also use any sort of magic they can obtain. {Remember, magic cannot be obtained in backstories! You must become sparked through RP before you can use any sort of magic, and it's notably difficult in the first place, too.}

Guardian Initiates: The guardians in training of their chosen path. These individuals have not yet learned every secret of the circle, yet. The initiates will go officially go under either Tomes or Swords if they succeed within their trials.

Banished: These individuals have betrayed the rightful laws of the circle. They have already faced their judgement and are never to return to the ranks.

The Stars: Those that have passed to another life. Ones that shall never be forgotten. Their memory lives on within the guild and will always remain a Guardian.
