Whoa.. I just used my loic skills. In medieval times people would never reach the height of 6 ft bc of the lack of added hormones that we eat now a days Following my chart should be fine.. Fr a mermaid to be a round 5-8 6ft

Besides, mermaid are naturally thin and fit so it doesn't really matter that much.

sorry to but in like this :p but wouldnt mermaids need long streamline figures? i mean if they were about 5/6 ft their tail would kind of be stubby and wouldnt give them the best swimming agility.

Part 10 - The Blood Tide
Death. Blood. So much blood.
Nimue went deaf. She didn't want to hear the underwater screams that now haunted her every moment. She didn't know what was happening. A mermaid swam past her holding her throat in pain as she began bleeding from every pore. Nimue slowly swam to her sisters, eyes wide from shock and confusion. She hugged her sisters and brother tightly. She had no idea if they would survive.
She steeled her nerves and decided to act like the queen she tried so hard to be. Grabbing her sister's hand, she raised a cry to signal as much people to swim in the direction she was swimming in. Leading as much survivors as she could, she swam day and night. In the corner of her eye near the ocean floor, she caught the glimpse of something red. She pointed in that direction, "Scout!". A thin and agile merman went and swam towards the red thing, which looked like a stringy flower. After poking it with his spear, he grabbed it and swam back to Nimue.
She watched the merman come back from picking up the red vine. But then as he swam nearer, she saw his life drain before her as he began bleeding profusely and crying tears of blood. The red plant, which she now knows is algae, dropped from the merman's lifeless hands. Eyes opening wide in horror, she screamed and told the small merfolk community to swim away, and swim they did.
"Nimue."
She opened her eyes to the soft whisper. "Nimue. Awaken."
She caught the glimpse of a blindingly beautiful woman's face before it dissipated into the ocean. Looking into the sea, she looked over the rest of the merfolk while they slept in an ancient sunken city. Only her family and a pair of mermaid twins were left. Looking into the distance, she saw a tide of red crawling on the ocean floor.
"Wake up! Wake up you fools, the corruption is upon us!" she screamed.
Her family woke up suddenly alert, and started swimming fast. But it wasn't going to be enough. The red corruption-infused algae was swimming fast towards them. Nimue fumbled fast for ideas. She wasn't good at Life or Order magic, but infusing it with her magnificant power of Water magic, she released a bright explosion of light. She passed out.
"We're safe!" "It stopped crawling!"
Being shaken furiously by her sister, Nimue opened her eyes yet again and saw that the algae stopped crawling towards them, and was actually retreating. Nimue looked up and saw floating dead fish and mer-bodies at the surface. For the first time in her life, she prayed to a goddess. For the first time in her life, she prayed for mercy.
The Age of the Merfolk has ended, the Last Queen mourns.

I think im gonna do a new kinda series with nimues backstory instead of current events. Kinda like how abbeys is.
Glad I inspired you! ;) Maybe you should give details of when you were captured by landlubbers, if you still have that as part of why you hate them. I remember you telling me, Nimue got taken away at a young age then escaped. I've always wondered the details of that...
