Name: Xei-Zhang Ren
Primary Weapon: WARNING! Long winded, but worth it. Trust me. Flick-Points. The Flick-Points (Or Flicks) Are small daggers, essentially, on small, but sturdy chains. (In RP, they'll usually just act like Throwing Knives and whatnot) Xei has spent many hours tinkering with the Flicks, resulting in two sturdy, steel, serrated dagger about five inches long. These are attached to chains of about four feet, the chains are thin, but again, made of steel. The Flicks are retracted by a spring mechanism in bands on his fore-arm which allows him to push a catch, which will pull the daggers back. Because of this, and the serrations, they make good 'grapples' as such, for light-weight objects. You're free to give your character Flicks, I've no copyrights on them obviously. It would be preferable to give your character them via RP, usually through me making you a set, or showing you how to make them. And, of course, they're open to tinkering, e.g. I could change daggers for small axe-heads (Potentially OP, you'll have to ask) and the chain length may be adjusted. If you do use them, you'll want to take into account a few things (This information is based on my Flicks) They will travel at about Twenty-Eight miles per hour, they're pretty hard to dodge, but equally hard to throw. (Might want to inquire about training with them if I make you some) this one's important, keep in mind the length of your chain, for example, mine are four feet long, so I can't go treating them like a bow and arrow. (If you do use longer chains, its going to take longer to retract. The bands will be bulkier too, remember) Being fairly light-weight, the Flicks can be thrown while you dodge (If you're a good acrobat, of course) which will make you a force to be reckoned with. For the sake of arguments about being 'OP' if the chains are smashed (E.g. if some hundred kilo Earthspawn warrior comes and hits the chain with his axe) You can't use them. You're going to need to go and fetch Xei for repairs. That was long winded, but necessary, I've already had a couple of RP's ruined by having to explain my Flicks, this is here so no-one else has to get that. If someone challenges you, and you've got Flicks, point them towards this thread, It'll help. Hopefully, Flicks become a well-known weapon so we all know when someones being 'OP' with them. Wow that really was long-winded... (If you want, I might be able to come up with some 'diagrams' and drawings of the Flicks).
Secondary Weapon: Throwing Knives are also quite popular with Xei, though they are pretty bland, and cheap to make, despite them being dangerous in the right hands. Xei will also resort to Martial Arts, if need be, though he isn't exactly a Ninja when it comes to it. (I'll be training my character, so in a few months time he'll be at least half-decent). You'll also note the large knife on Xei's lower abdomen, strapped to a belt. This is more of a utility blade, used for cutting rope/cloth and mushrooms for his soup. Might be seen using a bow (Considering making a dart launcher of sorts, to replace the left Flick-Point. I'll inquire about that later on) if Xei is using a bow, it's not going to be anything special, just an average bow. He's got the skill of an average hunter when it comes to bows.
Torso Armour: Xei has gone pretty light on the armour front, preferring a sturdy leather underlay, none of this heavy chainmail rubbish, and wears a neat, thick-silk grey and black robe over the top (Colours for 'She who is beyond names'). Bear in mind this is short-sleeved at the moment. (Also might want to remember the metal bands for the Flicks, they'd act as armour too).
Leg Armour: Again, a thick, but flexible leather underlay with black thick-silk covering. Xei also has some light, steel shin armour, not much, but its there.
Boots: Sturdy leather boots. Many hours have been spent adjusting them, making them great for the kind of acrobatics Xei performs.
Extra Gear: Two satchels, one for assorted gear Xei might need while adventuring, like a tinderbox, compass, pocket watch, and a fair amount of lock-picking gear, though he isn't exactly a master at actually using it (I'll train him). The second satchel has some medicinal herbs, pastes and potions. He has a fair knowledge on how to use them, too.
And thats all, thanks for reading, and I hope its inspired some new weapon ideas and given you a better understanding of Xei. I look forward to new, weird and wonderful weaponry and lots of roleplay fights with you lot!
