Years ending in 100: The Full Hollow

The Half Hollow happens once every 100 years on the 50th year. In the original 100 year cycle of Altera, the inhabitants started gathering as much food as they could possibly muster on this 50th year to brace themselves for an unnatural winter storm predicted by one of the capital city's seers. To ensure their survival, the inhabitants went about collecting as much food as they could to stockpile within the city so as to survive through such a storm.

The Full Hollow is believed to be the end of the storm previously predicted, and after its 50 year reign the people finally exited the city and set up many grand tables and chairs outside the city gates, and placing on them all of the leftover food and having a grand celebratory feast. This was a time where hierarchy was irrelevant, kings and nobles sat intermixed with peasants and orphans, no one cared for status, only for the fact that everyone was alive.

Minus the storm, many Alterans still believe in the ongoing tradition of the Half Hollow and Full Hollow in commemoration of these events, and will stockpile a lot of food to be feasted upon once the 100th year comes around, despite the fact that it is unsure whether these events actually happened in the past.

There are many more stories behind each of the Year names for Altera, which will hopefully be released at a later date.

Names of Months:

The names of the months are inspired by the kind of weather that tends to occur during that month. As such, many of them are self-explanatory.

January - Snowdown
February - Floodlock
March - Springrise
April - Truebirth
May - Sporebloom
June - Lightshine
July - Sunbright
August - Mistset
September - Fogwater
October - Ghostmoon
November - Stormwind
December - Winterfeast

Season Names:

These names refer to the seasons of harvest. The season of birth refers to the birth and/or rebirth of plants and animals, the season of harvest refers to the harvesting and gathering of plants and animals, the season of decay marks the death of the harvest crops and the season of frost marks the start of the winter weather.

Spring - Season of Birth
Summer - Season of Harvest
Autumn - Season of Decay
Winter - Season of Frost

Combining all of these allows you to write a date. To do so, the following is an example setup for a written log, newspaper or a diary entry:
17th Day of Mistset - 2993, Year of Inferno

Names of Days:
First Day - Boonday or Blessday - (First day of the week, the companion to Godsend of previous - a day for public, community worship and service, day when private prayers from Godsend are affirmed through public devotion)
Townsday - (Civic activity for one's homestead)
Thronesday - (Civic activity for one's country, Day for council meetings)
Sunderday - (Middle of the week - splits the more community-oriented days with the more personal ones.)
Waterday (Washing, cleaning, irrigating and maintaining of crops, and drinking.)
Fireday (The day of cooking large meals, smoking of meats, Celebrations, feast days all fall on Fireday before the more dour Godsend)
Final day - Godsend (Day of prayers and rest. Has a different naming schema to denote a different place socially. Typically the Gods are venerated on this day more privately.)

The week then is also split between days where people are more together, in a community spirit, and days when they attend to their own household and personal lives.
