Canon Convergent Creation Across Planes

The following is a brief paper written by Eyvind Herdsman, published publicly on the 27th of Ghostmoon, 2330.

Something that is more striking about planes is that there is convergent creation across multiple planes. That is, there are elements about each uncorrupted plane which are similar or exact across each plane. Flora, fauna, and elements all the same between each plane.

Consider almost anything that exists in our current world. It is likely that it also existed on a plane previous to our present plane, Altera Four.

Some examples of these exact elements are things such as grass. On every Altera before ours there has been grass. The same with roses. There too have been horses, dogs, cats, birds and fish of various species.

We know this because they are all referenced throughout history in writing, be it historical, fictional, or poetic. People have always kept horses for breeding. Pigs, chickens, and cows all for farming. People have always grown wheat.

These are things we have always experienced in our cultures throughout history. It is like a through thread to ancient times, despite existing on an entirely different world to those people.

Yet there have been distinctions, too, between our worlds. Especially in the living things that exist within.

In Altera Three there was a race of aquatic beings who shared the world before and after our arrival. In the same world there was also the Nakam, who appeared to evolve naturally without divine influence.

Before our arrival in Altera Four there were insectile people known today as the Precursors who have long since died off.

Also in Altera Four are the Makani, who continue to share this world. These people did not, to our knowledge, exist in previous worlds.

Nor did any of our kind, the Humans, Elves, Halflings, etc, exist in these other worlds before our arrival. Similarly, there is no reference that I could find to elementals before arriving in Altera Four.

There is also no reference to specific materials before our arrival in Altera Four, such as Magebloom which has no explained origin. Additionally, there exists a now inert material known as Redstone. This material was so influential on society that the now dead goddess Vermella held dominion over it. However, while it functioned in previous worlds, it became inert in Altera Four.

Given the vastness of the Planar, its infinity, one can draw that there are infinite worlds. Given the subtle or significant differences between worlds that we have witnessed, we can gauge that there must be worlds that are gradually different to our own on a vast scale of difference.

Eventually, such worlds should be unrecognizable to our own, completely alien. However, in traversing worlds in our history, we see worlds that are very much familiar. Perhaps startlingly familiar. Which calls into question how we traversed worlds to begin with.

The Exodus Gates were created by the Immortal Kings and Queens. These Immortals are believed to have created the many worlds. Perhaps an infinite number of worlds. As such, they should have intricate knowledge of every world.

As such, one might gather that our transposition between worlds was entirely intentional. That the Immortals hand picked what world we would arrive at, so such that we were familiar upon arriving. A great kindness by the Immortals to our endangered people.

One can only imagine what life would have been like if our travel between worlds was entirely more random. Perhaps the landscape would be all deserts of an alien color. With seas of acids.

It is entirely to the imagination, but such thoughts make one grateful for the care of the Immortals. However, it also makes one wonder what sorts of materials are left undiscovered. Perhaps there are plants that can cure any ailment. Or an impervious metal that is light but impenetrable.

It also makes one wonder about the many societies and cultures left uncontacted. One might assume that in an infinite number of worlds, a large number would be uninhabited. So if we assume the Immortals hand picked the worlds we would arrive at, why would they not deliver us to an uninhabited world? Perhaps they wanted us to make contact with these people.

Or another theory suggests that most if not all inhabitable worlds are inhabited by an intelligent race. We cannot fathom the sheer population of the Planar, with all its worlds.

We can see the great differences between societies in our world, so these other societies might be completely alien to us. What accomplishments have they completed that we have not seen? Do they possess magic like us? If we can summon things from other Planes, can they do the same? Are these people summoning things from our plane? All questions we cannot yet answer, but worth considering.

A response from Herdsman,

"Of course, my friend! I am glad you find interest in this little work. It is open to citation as all my works.
