Crime Drama

This is a thread for The Mentalist, Criminal Minds and Person of Interest TV Series. All three share similar traits, so I figure I'd mix them into one thread. Feel free to chat about the shows, etc.

Personally, all three of these shows are in my current list of most watched shows behind GoT and Spartacus. Overall fantastic roster of actors, characters and out-of-the-box storylines in both shows. I'd recommend both of these shows in a heartbeat, even if you are not a fan of the genre. I myself, am not a fan crime dramas like CSI or Law and Order, but these are an exception.

The Mentalist- My favorite out of the bunch, Simon Baker is outstanding to say the least.

Criminal Minds- Is it possible to watch a show too much? I think I achieved that goal..

Person of Interest- The Count of Monte Cristo has never been so bad-A.. Fantastic show.

I think The Mentalist is great, I kinda like Criminal Minds, but it's not my favourite I prefer NCIS. I've never heard of the third one, what's it about?

A computer genius named Finch developed a machine for the government that is used to detect information leading to acts of terrorism before they happen. The machine separates the information gathered into two categories: relevant and irrelevant. Finch, however, discovered that the irrelevant information often led to other acts of violent crime. So, he, before going underground, developed a back door into the system which only spits out the social security number of a central person involved in the crime. Supposedly dead in the authority's eyes, Finch hires John Reese, an ex-CIA special operations agent, who, too, dropped out of life after his girlfriend was killed as the result of a professional incident, and he was dissatisfied with the government's handling of the situation. Like Finch, Reese is officially listed as dead. Finch convinces Reese that working for him to prevent the crime associated with the social security number, he can do what he was unable to do working on the inside. While the two go about this business, they are tracked by the New York City Police Department, who are trying to uncover who Reese specifically is. -IMDb
The plot is good, but it's the actors that really make the show shine, for me at least. .

I think I might like it here
If you want to try a crime drama for real men, look up The Wire. It's been described by many critics as the greatest television show ever made.

Although this an ongoing thread so it doesnt really apply, make sure you look at the date of the last post so you dont revive a dead thread.

Okay, I shall say it one last time.
IF A THREAD IS IN THE OFF TOPIC SECTION, IT IS OKAY TO REVIVE THE THREAD.
It is better than creating an entirely new thread regarding the same topic.
